Over the past several months I’ve knew myself spend more time in meditation and introspection than I have in many years. This has helped me discover myself in new ways and to find new ways to honor Spirit in my daily practice.

Taking time to meditate or to simply be in the moment is an amazing tool for self-growth as it helps us to reacquaint ourselves with what draws us click and what is no longer working for us. We may not always have time to squeeze a long meditation session into our dates but endowing ourselves even ten minutes of hushed is a gift well given and immensely deserved. This week’s Daily Focus mulls on potential benefits that a few minutes of peace can bring to us all.

May 23

“Start with what you have. Just start.”

You may think that you need to read books or watch videos on how to mull so that you can be sure that you are doing it right. But you don’t need to do that at all. All you need is five minutes, a gentle fixed, and the desire to meditate and you are good to go. Don’t allow something as integral as meditating to become something complex and overtaking. Even if you exclusively have two minutes to spare today, that is all that you need. Today’s word is Initiate.

We have all knew a go where reference is followed our inclinations and allowed our intuition to guide us on our track. This is usually been incorporated into a flare of energy and hullabaloo to help carry us along. This is energy that we can tap into when we are familiar with our personal force pour, something that thought and reflection can certify. Today’s word is Boundless.

“No-one can function properly without occasional peace and quiet.” -Christopher Paolini

Even the most outgoing extrovert needs some time to chill and be with their own speculations. Meditation isn’t only when we sit cross legged and breathe, it can come while we are enjoying a soothing song, or a nonviolent stroll at night when everything has become silenced. Recognizing our need for tranquility is an important part of our self-care toolbox. Today’s word is Quietude.

“Feelings come and go like shadows in a windy sky. Awareness breathing is my anchor.” -Thich Nhat Hahn

Staying in the moment is the goal, but that doesn’t mean our memories will be blank slates. Reckons will drift through, as will feelings, and when they do it is important to acknowledge them and tell them is moving forward. The best action to do this is to remember to breathe and if you feel yourself being caught up in a think or feeling to simply refocus on your breathing motif. Today’s word is Touchstone.

May 27

“Listen to the inner light; it will guide you. Listen to inner agreement; it will feed you.” -Sri Chinmoy

Your inner light is what will both drive and leader you during your travel and transformative repetitions. But your internal tranquility and resolute knowledge of where you are going will feed you and give you the vigor that you will need to achieve your goals. Together these aspects of self will establish your journey easier. Today’s word is Nurture.

As a housemate of three spoiled pussies I have to say that this is the truth in our dwelling. No matter what is going on around them, within minutes they seem to settle into calm as they watch the situation at hand and decide their next act. I think it is easy to envy our four legged friends this capability, but this is something that is well within our comprehend if we are only tolerate ourselves to take a step back, floor ourselves, and look at the situation before us through clear hearts. Today’s word is Catlike.

Many of us experienced art categories when we were younger. We organized from our hearts and souls, entirely inattentive to what might have been right or wrong techniques or approaches. We were focused on sharing what we saw, imagined, and is considered to be real and right. This careless abandon is something that “were losing” over hour and as such we too seem to lose the flexibility to see all inventive possibles. Maybe it’s time to break out the thumb coats! Today’s word is Imaginative.

Even taking a walk can bring on a meditative state of mind where free flowing thinks can lead to much needed clarity and reacts.
