International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has appointed Piaras Power as partner in its finance & projects practice in Ireland.
Power will join the firm on October 1 from Eversheds Sutherland.
The company said the hire strengthens the finance & projects practice, which has doubled in size over the last three years, and underscores the firm’s ambitious expansion plans in this area.
Power brings to the firm more than 20 years’ experience as a partner working in acquisition finance, cash flow, asset-based lending, real estate & development finance, with a particular focus on the residential, healthcare and alternative asset sectors.
He will work alongside Ray Byrne, partner and Addleshaw Goddard’s head of finance in Ireland, and recent hire John Kearns, who is a partner in structured finance and debt capital markets, to broaden the firm’s client offering in the finance sector.
The appointment follows a period of sustained growth for Addleshaw Goddard in Ireland.
The firm’s new office at the award-winning Fitzwilliam No.28 in the heart of Dublin now hosts 90 solicitors, with the firm adding 15 new hires in the last year, consisting of 12 new solicitors and three Partner hires.
It is now one of the largest international law firms operating in the Irish market. The Irish firm achieved growth of 12% in the most recent financial year to April.
Current clients supported by Addleshaw Goddard Ireland include Bank of Ireland, AIB, Jackie Greene Construction, Tuath Housing Association, The Land Development Agency, Home Building Finance Ireland, the Mercantile Group, Fold Housing Association, Kennedy Wilson, Hines, Tifco Hotel Group, Marks & Spencer, IMC Cinemas, Harvey Norman, Zara, Q-Park, Johnson & Johnson, Corum Asset Management, Vodafone, H&M, Sky, Dunport Capital Management, ING Bank, and RELM.
