Mia Goth’s Venice Film Festival Arrival: The Unexpected Move Everyone’s Talking About—You Won’t Believe What Happened Next!
Ever wonder where that jaw-dropping vintage gown on your favorite celeb made its grand entrance? It’s pretty wild to think that Sabrina Carpenter’s dazzling ’90s Bob Mackie, Addison Rae’s fresh-from-1995 Vivienne Westwood, and Hailey Bieber’s iconic late-’90s Mugler didn’t just magically appear—they were carefully curated treasures from Tab Vintage, the Los Angeles-based archival studio that’s become the ultimate hotspot for one-of-a-kind vintage luxury. Founded in 2019 by Alexis Novak, this gem of a place isn’t just about storing clothes, but preserving fashion history with an almost obsessive dedication. Celebrity stylists like Jamie Mizrahi can’t seem to get enough, turning to Tab Vintage to conjure up unforgettable red carpet moments—like those gracing Mia Goth at the 2025 Venice Film Festival. So, how does an archival studio become the secret weapon behind Hollywood’s most talked-about looks? Let’s dive into this stylish world where past meets present in the most stunning way. LEARN MORE.
Sabrina Carpenter’s ’90s Bob Mackie gown, Addison Rae’s Spring/Summer 1995 Vivienne Westwood, Hailey Bieber’s Fall/Winter 1998 Mugler… if you’ve seen a piece of fashion history on your favorite celebrity, it’s likely been sourced by Tab Vintage.
Founded in 2019 by Alexis Novak, the Los Angeles-based archival studio has since grown into one of the largest, most highly-curated selections of one-of-a-kind vintage luxury pieces, dedicated to the garment restoration process and preservation of design history. And, carrying coveted collections from the likes of Christian Dior by John Galliano, Céline by Phoebe Philo, and Gucci by Tom Ford, it has become the ultimate go-to spot for celebrity stylists like Jamie Mizrahi.
Dressing Mia Goth for the 2025 Venice Film Festival, where the actress promoted her forthcoming film Frankenstein, Mizrahi looked to Tab Vintage for two of three red carpet looks.
“The Venice Film Festival holds a special place in my heart,” Goth told Harper’s Bazaar. “This is the third time I’ve premiered a film here and it was just as marvelous and welcoming as the first.”
For the more casual photo call, Goth wore a chocolate-brown Versace Couture minidress, fitted with a V-neck and sleeveless silhouette that flares slightly in the skirt. Interestingly, the piece featured a much lower neckline when it made its way down the Spring/Summer 1991 runway, making people wonder if Mizrahi styled it backwards for the 2025 occasion.
Slipping into something a bit more formal (and contemporary) while keeping the mocha color palette alive, Goth attended the premiere in a striking Dior gown by Jonathan Anderson, who has been quietly working on his womenswear debut for the French house. The low, open back left space for a dramatic bow train, which swept the red carpet as she walked and left us dreaming of what’s to come from the designer. She paired the look with matching open-toed heels and her long brunette locks in subtle waves, along with a striking diamond-and-emerald necklace from Tiffany & Co.
“The grandness of the architecture and richness of the colors very much align with the beautiful production design and costumes showcased in Frankenstein,” Goth said. “It was a magical experience to create a red carpet moment with Jonathan Anderson for Dior and with Tiffany & Co.”
As for Goth’s beauty, her makeup artist Nina Park said: “I was inspired by the elegance of her dark brown Dior gown and Tiffany jewelry and wanted the makeup to reflect that same understated sophistication. We kept the skin fresh and luminous, with soft definition around the eyes and natural tones that enhanced her features without overpowering them.”
Hairstylist Christian Wood added: “We went with soft 60’s-inspired bangs, adding modern volume to keep the look youthful, fresh, but still polished. By pushing the hair back off the shoulders, the necklace was able to take center stage and have the full moment it deserved.”
Later, for another photo call, Goth swapped the browns for whites and matched costar Jacob Elordi in a vintage Mugler mini, courtesy of Tab. With spaghetti straps and a layered, double-tiered hem, it was a classic ’90s couture piece from the label—and the perfect little white dress for an end-of-summer event.
Frankenstein, a gothic sci-fi horror written and directed by Guillermo Del Toro, and based on Mary Shelley’s 1818 classic, premiered to a standing ovation in Venice and will make its way to select theaters in October before landing on Netflix November 7.
