But the show is going out with a bang as Rue fights for her life in Mexico while her fellow East Highland alums deal with their own issues that no amount of school could have prepared them for.
In Euphoria season 3, five years have passed since the day they watched Lexi’s play. Rue is paying off her debts to Laurie by acting as a drug runner in Mexico. She’s a world away from her old friends at East Highland, who now lead wildly different lives.
Lexi (Maude Apatow) is killing it in Hollywood as a rising-star TV writer, whilst Jules (Hunter Schaeffer) leads a more explicit lifestyle as a sugar baby to rich men. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) is now married to Nate (Jacob Elordi), but their enviable upper-middle-class lifestyle masks some darkness. Cassie is cashing in on her looks as an OnlyFans creator, whilst Nate must survive run-ins with the mafia. Euphoria is officially no longer a high school drama, but a full-blown grown-up soap opera about trying to find your place in a scary world.
