There are very few things we can control in this life. But one aspect we can harness is how we wear our hair. As such, caring for our tresses is a tool many women use to help feel in touch with their identity and infuse an extra boost of confidence into their daily routines.

So, as you can imagine, abnormal hair thinning and shedding can make it a lot more difficult to feel like your best self, especially when it’s unclear how to fix it. Despite how stressful that experience can be, women’s hair loss is surprisingly common. In fact, more than half of all women will experience it at some point in their lives, according to the Cleveland Clinic, which makes sense given that the underlying causes are so wide-ranging: Hair loss can result from factors including postpartum and menopausal-induced hormone changes, physical stress, emotional stress, autoimmune conditions, hair styling habits, and even dietary deficiencies—and that doesn’t even cover it all.

Since the root cause of hair loss can be so challenging to identify, it can also be extra difficult to effectively treat. So when Women’s Health learned that OMI WellBeauty, the brand behind the hair growth capsules revered by A-listers such as Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian, was launching two hair growth peptides designed to address hair shedding specifically due to hormone changes and stress, we wanted to put them to the test. After all, OMI won a 2025 Women’s Health beauty award for best hair growth treatment, so we had to find out whether their latest additions, which are now available to purchaseonline for $77 each, would also live up to the hype.

So that’s exactly what we did: For eight weeks, two members of the WH team—special projects director Amanda Lucci and designer Leanne Mattern—tried the product daily as directed. Here’s everything you need to know about the new supplements, including the science behind them, and our editors’ unfiltered thoughts about their experiences.

OMI WellBeauty Hair Growth Peptides

What is the science behind the new OMI WellBeauty Hair Growth Peptides?

The capsules contain essential vitamins and minerals such as niacin, biotin, zinc, and copper to support hair health, but the star of the show is OMI’s patented hair growth peptide blend, which the brand claims is clinically shown to improve hair follicle function, reduce hair loss and promote growth and strength, Women’s Health previously reported. In case you’re unfamiliar, peptides are short chains of amino acids (sometimes made in a lab, sometimes derived naturally) that can target specific skin and hair issues topically and from the inside out. You can think of them as keys that unlock biological functions that have gone dormant—in this case, optimal hair growth.

Using AI technology, OMI’s science team claims they were able to suss out the key factors that contribute to follicle damage, and pinpoint a peptide blend to help reverse that damage. The brand calls this their Intermediate Filament Peptide (IFP) and sources it from the wool of grass-fed sheep in New Zealand in an ethical, sustainable, and farm-traceable way.

But to take their hair growth capsules to the next level, OMI designed two additional formulations that of course include the Intermediate Filament Peptide, formally referred to as IFP-131™ Peptide Technology, but also other science-backed signature ingredients meant to target specific underlying causes of hair thinning and shedding, rather than just the symptom.

OMI Hair Growth Peptides™ HARMONIZE is designed for hormone-related hair thinning including postpartum, perimenopause and birth control-induced hormone level changes. Its signature ingredients include bioactive fenugreek extract, which is thought to help increase levels of estradiol—a type of estrogen hormone that, in higher levels, is associated with a prolonged growth phase of the hair life cycle and in turn, fuller-looking hair; saw palmetto which, according to limited studies, may help promote hair growth in adults with perceived hair thinning; as well as biotin and B vitamins, which are known to drive hair loss in people with deficiencies.

Meanwhile, OMI’s second targeted peptide, REVITALIZE, is formulated to support aging, weakened hair and address shedding due to stress. The signature ingredients include Noogandha™ Ashwagandha, which has been shown to reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol, thereby indirectly supporting hair health by reducing stress-related shedding; rhodiola and Holy basil, herbs used in traditional medicine to increase the body’s resilience to stress; as well as magnesium, which can also help regulate stress hormones like cortisol and reduce chronic stress.

But perhaps what’s most impressive about the new capsules are the clinical results. According to a 90-day study conducted by the brand that involved women with stressed hair and nails, HARMONIZE was found to promote thicker, fuller, and stronger hair, support improved hair density and resilience, and reduce hair loss by up to 47 percent; REVITALIZE, meanwhile, was found to reduce hair loss by the same amount, while also reducing cortisol by 24 percent and reduce other signs of stress by 69 percent. Pretty impressive, right? But we don’t expect you to just take their word for it, so we assessed the efficacy of the capsules ourselves.

How our editors used the OMI WellBeauty Hair Growth Peptides.

OMI WellBeauty toldWomen’s Health that they’d be launching new hair growth capsules months in advance, allowing our testers—both of whom were experiencing hair thinning—to begin taking two capsules daily, as instructed, for eight weeks.

Lucci first noticed her hair loss beginning in November, 2025, about four months after she gave birth to her child. Her problem areas were along her hairline and her part, and “I started pulling out handfuls in the shower,” she says. She believes her thinning is due to good ol’ postpartum hair loss, which impacts upwards of 90 percent of new moms, according to research. But she also believes the stress of having a new baby, returning to work, and learning to balance motherhood and her career over the age of 35 were all contributing factors.

Given all the stress she’s been managing, Lucci decided to give the REVITALIZE hair growth capsules a try. Over the course of eight weeks, she took two capsules after dinner “with the rest of my usual vitamins and medications,” she says, allowing the capsules to seamlessly fit into her daily routine, though “taking two large pills is never something I would consider ‘fun,’” she adds.

For the most part, Lucci was diligent about taking the capsules with food, as is directed. But she certainly paid the price the one time she slipped up: “I did have one incident where I was traveling for work, hasn’t eaten enough, and that took day’s dose on an empty stomach—then went to the gym,” she says. “I made it about 90 percent of the way through my workout before I promptly vomited in the trash can in the hotel gym. Not my proudest moment.”

Mattern’s hair loss journey is a bit different. Though she’s always had naturally thin tresses, “especially noticeable at my scalp, my part, and cowlick at the back of my head,” she says, her shedding began to increase at an alarming rate within the past two years. “I feel like I lose more hair than I’m growing,” she adds. “My original problem areas have seemingly gotten worse.”

Multiple factors could be at play, she says. For one, she’s always loved manipulating her hair with bleach, perms, and hair dye, and within the past couple years, she’s done all three in a short period of time. After that, she started noticing “way more fall out,” she says, “especially in and after the shower.”

Despite the fact that harsh chemical treatments are known to deteriorate hair strength and potentially contribute to hair loss, the sudden increase in shedding left Mattern feeling confused. After all, she’s dyed and bleached her hair for years without experiencing issues, she says. So beyond her styling habits, Mattern suspected her hormone health could play a role in her hair loss, too—especially since she started using an intrauterine device (IUD) as birth control around the same time she bleached and dyed her hair, and soon after started to get more acne as well, she says. “I’m not hesitant to say I’m experiencing hormonal changes at the same time.”

As such, Mattern decided to give the HARMONIZE capsules a whirl to address her hair thinning. And like Lucci, Mattern emphasizes the importance of taking the pills with food, “and not just a bagel, like a full meal,” she says. “If you don’t, the stomach ache and nausea are like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.” Having to carefully schedule her pill intake around her meals made using the capsules a bit for difficult for Mattern, she says, “just because I don’t have very scheduled eating habits, especially over the weekends.”

Other than that, the experience wasn’t much to complain about, Mattern says. The pills didn’t have a potent taste and were relatively easy to take—so that’s a plus. But they did leave behind a pretty noticeable scent on her fingers and hair, she says. “It mostly smelled like tumeric,” she adds. “I was pouring the capsules into the cap to prevent touching them” and smelling like the pills.

So if there’s one major takeaway from our testers, it’s this: Take the use instructions on the packaging seriously—that’ll ensure you have the most seamless (Translation: nausea-free) experience possible.

The results our editors got using the OMI WellBeauty Harmonize + Revitalize Hair Growth Peptides.

First off, it’s important to keep in mind that OMI hair growth peptides are intended for long-term use. And for best results, the brand recommends users take the pills for at least three months. Our testers only used them for eight weeks, which is a substantial time period to tell if the capsules are starting to work their magic, but not quite enough for them to unleash their full potential.

Throughout the eight weeks, the growth peptides helped Lucci’s hair “feel thicker and healthier than it did prior,” she says. However, she’s not fully convinced the pills caused her hair to grow back any faster than she was expecting, she adds. But perhaps her before and after photos speak for themselves: Lucci’s temporal hairline looks noticeable fuller in the second picture, with more abundant baby hairs and less scalp visibility. As such, “I have already recommended this product to my new mom friends who are looking for that extra boost as their hair grows back,” she says.

Mattern’s results were similar: “My hair does feel thicker and healthier at the scalp,” which helps to cover more of the bare parts, she says. “I do feel like [the capsules] produced hair growth.” While she didn’t notice as much growth along the part of her hair—one of her primary areas of concern—she did grow a lot more baby hairs along her hairline, noticed increase growth of peach fuzz on her face, particularly when she dermaplaned, and even grew a few random long hairs above her upper lip and on her cheek. And while those may not be the spots where she’s actively trying to grow hair, it’s proof the pills are doing something. “And I think over a longer period of time, I would notice more growth all over my head.”

But perhaps the best part of Mattern’s results is the fact that actively taking something to address her thinning hair helped lower her stress about balding, she says. For that mental relief alone, she would recommend the capsules to other people struggling with shedding, as long as they’re committed to taking them for a long time, she says.

So, are the OMI WellBeauty HARMONIZE and REVITALIZE Hair Growth Peptides worth it?

At the end of the day, there are seemingly countless solutions marketed to treat hair thinning. There are red light therapy devices—but they can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. There are hair oils and other supplements you can buy from beauty stores—but the evidence to support their efficacy is often limited or nonexistent. And there are over-the-counter treatments like minoxidil—which is widely considered by experts to be the most effective, science-backed solution—but they involve applying a topical solution or gel to the scalp, which can be messy and cumbersome.

So if you’re willing to spend about 80 bucks, are fine with waiting a few months to see results, are looking to address specific underlying causes of hair thinning, and want to sidestep all the above concerns, the new OMI hair growth peptides could be a great option for you.

Our testers saw promising results in just eight weeks—so imagine what three to six months of use could do. And of course, no hair growth capsule is a silver bullet, and it’s always worth consulting your doctor if you suspect an underlying medical condition is driving your hair loss. But for those simply looking for an accessible, low-effort way to support their hair from the inside out, these capsules offer a compelling starting point.
