On Monday night, Nicole Richie celebrated the world premiere of her forthcoming action-comedy film Stop! That! Train! by turning the occasion into a mother-daughter date.

As she walked the pink carpet in Los Angeles, Richie was joined by her teenage daughter, Harlow Kate Madden. The eldest child of Richie and her husband, Joel Madden, the 18-year-old wore a strapless little black dress for the big night. She paired the leather mini with tall shiny boots in a patent leather, while accessorizing with Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry, including a black pendant necklace and a white bracelet. For a pop of color, she painted her nails a deep red.

Though she certainly has her mother’s eyes, as far as styling went for the evening, the two looked like polar opposites. While Richie’s mini-me—who goes by her middle name, Kate—went for a monochromatic black look, Richie embraced playful patterns with a Conner Ives Spring 2026 number. Styled by Jamie Mizrahi, the midnight-blue slip featured a cowl neckline, floor-length hem, and matching head scarf. The Simple Life star wore it with crystal diamond earrings from her own label, House of Harlow, and a white, fur-trimmed coat.

The outing marked a rare public appearance from the duo, who last attended a premiere together over two years ago. Then, they celebrated Richie’s coming-of-age comedy Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (2024), a remake of the 1991 classic of the same name. They were joined by the rest of their family, including Lionel Richie, Brenda Harvey-Richie, Lisa Parigi, Joel, and Kate’s brother, 16-year-old Sparrow Madden.
