When it comes to Taylor Swift, nothing is a coincidence. The artist, who once revealed that she sometimes plants Easter eggs years in advance, has long used her style, glam, and even nail polish to signal something to the fans. And last night was no exception.
As she attended the Los Angeles premiere of Toy Story 5, for which she wrote her newly-released track “I Knew It, I Knew You,” Swift wore a patchwork floral dress with a hidden meaning.
Courtesy of Erdem, the piece was pulled from the house’s Fall 2026 line, a collection titled “Imaginary Conversation,” which honored the 20th anniversary of the house. This specific dress featured a strapless bodice with romantic off-the-shoulder straps, structured boning, and sparkling embellishments. Its skirt added floral panels to either hip, creating an exaggerated silhouette that was finished with an unraveling raw hem. The collection and its hues and motifs—from the blues and greens to the flower petals—echoed Swift’s own 20-year milestone: the anniversary of her debut album.
Stylist Joseph Cassell paired the dress with a horseshoe necklace (likely a wink to the Toy Story character Jessie) and satin Aleví Milano heels.
Later, the singer changed into a yellow V-neck gown with a waterfall of flower embellishments as she took the stage. In addition to performing “I Knew It, I Knew You,” she surprised the crowd with a duet of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” singing alongside Randy Newman himself.
For Swift, the highlight of the evening may have just been getting Newman to sign her VHS tape of Toy Story (watch her gush over the moment here).
