Limerick is strengthening its position as an international centre for television production following the official launch of BiggerStage’s new Global Production Hub at Troy Studios.
The Irish independent production company unveiled the facility at a high-profile event attended by Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Patrick O’Donovan TD, Limerick Mayor John Moran, and leading figures from the Irish and international television industry.
The launch marks a significant milestone for BiggerStage, which has committed a multi-million euro investment to establish what it describes as a global centre of excellence for television production in Ireland.
The company is already producing major international formats in Limerick and attracting some of the world’s biggest entertainment brands to the region through partnerships with FOX Entertainment, MGM, Studio Ramsay Global, Talpa Studios and ITV Studios.
Among the productions filmed at Troy Studios are The Floor, hosted by Rob Lowe, 99 To Beat featuring Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews, and Name That Tune with Jane Krakowski for FOX in the United States. The company is also preparing to record the UK version of Name That Tune with Alison Hammond for ITV1.
The launch event also saw the announcement of Format Factory, a new initiative designed to position Ireland as a leading destination for the creation, development and testing of international television formats.
The incubator will support producers in developing original intellectual property and piloting unscripted television concepts before they are scaled for global markets.
Speaking at the launch, BiggerStage founder and CEO Pat Kiely said the television industry is undergoing a period of major transformation.
“We are in the middle of a really exciting evolution of television across viewing habits, content creation and platform consolidation,” he said.
“Ireland’s creative reputation, world-class infrastructure and highly skilled talent means we are spectacularly positioned to capitalise on this shift.”
Kiely also highlighted the impact of Ireland’s recently introduced unscripted television tax credit, the first incentive of its kind in Europe.
He said the measure, combined with existing audiovisual supports, is helping Ireland compete for international productions while generating investment and employment opportunities.
Minister O’Donovan welcomed the development, describing it as a strong endorsement of Ireland’s creative sector.

“The launch of The BiggerStage Global Production Hub at Troy Studios will not only attract major international players to Limerick, it illustrates how Ireland has the infrastructure, talent, creativity and production expertise to lead in this space,” he said.
“Ireland’s creative industry is on a real high; never has there been a better time to expand our global offering and drive more investment into the development of creative IP, jobs, training, development and infrastructure.”
