Most people with penises use their phallus to fill holes, but now there’s a cosmetic procedure that puts it on the receiving end: penis filler.

Penis filler is a non-surgical procedure where hyaluronic acid dermal filler—the same gel-like substance used for lip and cheek filler—is typically injected into the shaft (not the head) of the penis to increase girth, explains Chris Bustamante, DNP, an aesthetic nurse practitioner and founder of Lushful Aesthetics in New York City. Many patients combine penis filler with ScroFill® (yes, that’s scrotum filler) to maximize their bulge and create a more balanced, bigger look overall, he says.

While penis filler does not change erect length, it does limit retraction of the penis when flaccid so that it looks longer when soft, says Amy Pearlman, MD, a Miami-based board-certified urologist specializing in male sexual and hormonal health and co-founder of the Prime Institute. And after multiple sessions, some guys can gain up to an inch of erect girth.

Of course, it’s important to work with an experienced, qualified professional (like a urologist or plastic surgeon) who uses proper techniques.
