I can’t tell you how much that meant to me because I created the Imagination Library as a tribute to my Daddy,” Dolly recalled in a letter to fans. “He was the smartest man I have ever known but I know in my heart his inability to read probably kept him from fulfilling all of his dreams.”
At first, Dolly’s dream was to simply inspire and help young readers in her hometown—but it quickly gained worldwide recognition. “Here we are today with a worldwide program that gives a book a month to well over 3 million children,” she continued in the letter. “Of course, I have not done this alone. The real heroes of our story are the thousands of local organizations who have embraced my dream and made it their own. They raise millions of dollars each year and wake up every day with a passion to make sure their kids have every opportunity to succeed.”

Earlier today, a rep for Taylor told People that Taylor and Travis made a generous $26 million donation to an array of organizations “this week.”
In addition to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Swift and Kelce donated to a wide range of organizations, including City Harvest, the Food Bank for New York City, New York Cares, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Harvesters in Kansas City, Brad Paisley and Kimberly Paisley’s The Store in Nashville, Helping Harvest in Pennsylvania, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Feeding America, the ASPCA and Grammy in the Schools.
But that’s not all! Taylor and Travis also extended their generosity to a range of education, health and youth-focused organizations, including Education Through Music, Answer the Call and Musical Mentors, as well as After-School All-Stars in both New York and Cleveland. Their donations further supported pediatric care and research through MSK Kids (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center), Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
