Traveling with grooming gear can feel like playing a practical game of “What’s worth the space in my bag?” — and trust me, choosing the right razor or trimmer is no trivial matter. Whether you’re after that smooth, fuss-free shave or a compact trimmer that tames the wildest of beards and body hair (yes, even those tricky spots), the tech has evolved quite a bit. I’ve sifted through countless options to bring you a collection of top-notch grooming essentials that blend portability, performance, and comfort — because your travel routine deserves an upgrade that’s as sharp as your look. Ready to revolutionize the way you pack your grooming game? Let’s dive in. LEARN MORE

First off is the best razor that is clearly meant to be a travel razor. It comes with a very nice travel case (albeit one with a large Gillette logo) that begs to be packed. Beyond that, it’s just a great cartridge razor that isn’t fussy and gives a smooth shave.

Personally, as someone who’s become used to vibration in my Gillette razor, I love the FlexDisc. It’s the GilletteLabs touch that allows for smoother movement and greater comfort, so I’m not even noticing what I’m missing at home.

If you truly just want a razor you can toss in your Dopp kit, taking up as little space as possible, go Bic. This cartridge razor is a pretty big step up from the disposables it’s been making for years, but it’s still affordable enough that it doesn’t matter if you lose the handle. Each of the cartridges is loaded with five blades and a lubricating strip, so to most of us it will feel just like shaving with a Gillette.

Honestly? I’m not a huge electric razor guy, but if I had to stick with one for life, I’d throw my hat in the ring with Panasonic. The Arc 5 palm-sized handheld shaving foil is a luxe face shaver in a super compact form—which low-key makes it look better than the big ones with rotating heads. It does wet or dry shaving without any discomfort, and the whole thing comes with a travel case where you can store the cleaning brush and charger. Or just secure the protective cap, toss it in the toiletry bag, and charge using the same USB-C you’re almost assuredly using to charge your phone.

If you need a beard trimmer that’s going to be a little less bulky than the average Braun or Wahl clippers, the OneBlade 360 is going to be your new best friend. It’s slim and comes with one five-length guide comb for bushier beards, and two other attachments for shorter beards and more fine-tuning. I’ve yet to find a better trimmer for detailing and trimming my mustache and goatee areas (unless, of course, we count the more premium version of this device).

Plus, it’s technically billed as a hybrid trimmer. That means you can go buck wild on your body hair in the hotel room.

I never found the right trimmer for my body (especially my lower body) until I discovered Meridian. The Slimmer Trimmer is a phenomenal, compact trimmer that is perfect for traveling. To be blunt, it’s meant to be a pubic hair trimmer, and as one, it’s a freaking miracle. However, it will also work great for body hair or cleaning up your beard without having to bring a second trimmer—just make sure to clean it thoroughly first.

This is more of a long trip kinda thing. Because unless you are going somewhere for a month or more, you can probably just touch up your ears, nose, and eyebrows before you depart. It doesn’t take up much space, so it won’t be hard to convince yourself to bring it anyway. Regardless, it’s been a really nice tool to have at my disposal. Hairy guys everywhere will likely agree that at least two of these areas can be a pain to trim with scissors—plus having a dedicated device for all of that just feels more hygienic.
