Amazon Essentials Clothing: The Surprising Truth After 30 Days That No One’s Talking About!

Confession: I kept my expectations for this shoe fairly low. I mean, it’s not often a sneaker that runs you about $40 blows you away with comfort and style, am I right? But this shoe was another pleasant surprise from the line. While I def wouldn’t wear this sneaker for working out or 10K steps at a time (it is a lifestyle shoe after all), it keeps my feet happy during long days commuting to NYC for work, 30+ minute walks with my dog, and standing for extended periods at events.

It’s not super cushioned, but I was able to comfortably wear it right out of the box, no breaking in (or blisters!) required. That’s probably due to the cushioned heel collar. Plus, it’s just plain cute. It kind of gives Samba vibes with its low-profile shape and simple design. I think the tan color with its tonal laces is super versatile and perfect for spring. I’ve been wearing it with wide-leg jeans, linen pants, and shorts.

This button-down is a great wardrobe basic. I’ve worn it to the office a handful of times, but it’s just as easy to dress down. It pairs effortlessly with tailored trousers and jeans, and I love throwing it on open over a white tee or tank with shorts when it’s warm out (a perfect vacay look if you ask me). I have the gray striped version, which feels especially versatile, but it also comes in classic white, navy, and a fun pink stripe color if you want something more fun.

It’s made from a 98% cotton and 2% elastane blend, so it’s soft, breathable, and has just enough stretch. My only real callout is the fit. It leans more straight and slim than I personally prefer. I like a more relaxed, slightly oversized look when it comes to a button-down. Sizing up helped, but if I were to order it again, I’d probably go up two sizes to get that looser, more effortless look. This style already earned a top spot in our guide to the best summer shorts because it’s everything we love about laid-back shorts—super soft, breathable, and comfortable enough to wear all day (which can’t be said for most of my summer shorts, to be honest). It’s available in classic neutrals and fun spring shades, and I find it super easy to style with a basic white tee and sneaks for casual wear or a flowy blouse and sandals for a more chic dinner and drinks vibe.

With a high cotton content, it feels great on hot days, whether you’re walking around the city, hanging on a boat, or throwing it over a swimsuit. It also has a bit of elastane added in for stretch and comfort, which I totally appreciate (especially around the waist). I love that it’s available in curvy and straight silhouettes, as well as an inclusive size range (from 0 to 20!). I went with the curvy fit since I have bigger hips and sized up for a looser, baggier fit. But you can stick with your regular size if you prefer something more fitted.

My workout clothes drawer might already be bursting at the seams, but I had to try Amazon Essentials’ Active FormFlex Legging to get a well-rounded sense of the lineup. Like white tees, I own a lot of black leggings, from pricey lululemon and Alo pairs to affordable ones from Crz Yoga and Old Navy. I’ve found that Amazon workout clothes typically punch above their price point in terms of style and performance, but they don’t always match the quality of the big players in activewear.

This legging is made from the brand’s FormFlex fabric, a nylon and elastane blend (similar to a lot of my faves from lulu and Crz Yoga). It feels ultra-smooth and has plenty of stretch. Overall, it’s a comfortable legging that I found surprisingly flattering and smoothing around the belly and hips. However, I’ve quickly lumped this legging in with my casual pairs—as opposed to the pairs I reach for when working out. That’s because I’ve noticed the waistband tends to slide down while running or doing explosive movements, which is a huge pet peeve of mine with leggings.
