Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures will release Digger, an original film from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu, starring Academy Award winner Tom Cruise in the title role.
In Digger, the most powerful man in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he has unleashed destroys everything.

Cruise leads an ensemble cast that includes Oscar winner Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Oscar nominee Jesse Plemons. Robert John Burke, Emma D’Arcy, Burn Gorman and Sophie Wilde also star.
Iñárritu directs from a screenplay by Iñárritu, Academy Award winners Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolás Giacobone, and Sabina Berman, from a story by Iñárritu and Berman.

The film is produced by Iñárritu, Academy Award nominee Mary Parent, Cruise and Michael Sharp, with Joshua Grode, Berman, Dinelaris, Giacobone, Jez Butterworth and Emmanuel Lubezki serving as executive producers.
Behind the camera, Iñárritu reunites with several longtime collaborators, including Academy Award-winning director of photography Emmanuel Lubezki, editors Conor O’Neill and Academy Award winner Stephen Mirrone, Academy Award-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West, Academy Award-winning makeup and hair designer Alessandro Bertolazzi, and Academy Award-nominated casting director Francine Maisler.

The creative team also includes Academy Award-winning production designer Dennis Gassner and production designer Richard Johnson, Academy Award-winning prosthetic makeup designer Kazu Hiro, and composer Cosmo Sheldrake.
An Alejandro G. Iñárritu Film, Digger was shot entirely in VistaVision and will be released in theatres and IMAX® across North America on October 2, 2026, with its international rollout beginning September 30, 2026.
