SPAIN FORWARD Ferran Torres made only one goal in the 2026 FIFA World Cup—and the one that truly mattered. In a nail-biter final, Spain and Argentina were forced into extra time and in the 106th minute, Torres (a second-half substitute) scored the winning goal that decided the match and denied Argentina a second consecutive title.
“It was the biggest moment in my life so far,” Torres says. “It was amazing, and how people reacted even if they were not from our country, it surprised me.”
Torres is nicknamed “El Tiburón,” (Spanish for shark) for his mental resilience and discipline. In between games for FC Barcelona (and potentially Paris Saint-Germain), Torres focuses on short and intense workouts that targets a little bit of everything. He also makes sure to carve out time for leg day once or twice a week along with running for cardio. As important as exercise is his recovery. Torres says he prioritizes getting eight to nine hours of sleep and time in the sauna.
Fresh off his win, Torres joined MH to talk about the workout that helped develop the core and lower body strength that helped him face off against the GOAT Lionel Messi and give La Roja their second World Cup win. In the video, he also discusses diet, his guilty pleasure sweet treat, and the meaning behind a special tattoo on his back.
