Positano is a gem on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, and for the past 75 years, the Le Sirenuse hotel, run by the Sersale family, has been one of the most luxurious places to stay—so when they opened up a new beach club this summer, Le Sirenuse Mare— it was at the top of our favorite summer destinations to escape to.

There’s an art to packing for a day by the water, especially for a beach club with a restaurant and a round-trip boat ride to get there. The ideal list is comprised of the perfect swimsuit (or two), a comfortable caftan, a sarong, water shoes, and all of the fix-ins to get you through a dreamy day of bouncing between the water and your cabana.

Le Sirenuse Mare is the perfect extension of the hotel and its store, Emporio Sirenuse (with now a second location at the beach club). With its green-and-white striped umbrellas and towels, a lush landscape of greenery with colorful florals, and the Mediterranean sea as its backdrop, the location is a moodboard for what to wear.

To start your day, grab a swimsuit, a skirt, and the biggest straw bag you own to fit everything inside for the day. Along the way, whether you sit in one of the chairs on the boat deck or head up to the bunny pad to lounge, a one-piece can double as a bodysuit with your skirt, and you can easily slip out of it when it’s time to take a dip in the water.

Bring your jelly water shoes to enter by the rocks, or leave them on the jetty before you jump in. Owner Carla Sersale and her niece Viola Parrocchetti, the brand’s creative director, replenish the store and stock online each season with a range of prints and silhouettes. The brand is expanding further, with Francesco Sersale (a third-generation Sersale) bringing the Le Sirenuse name to new markets and audiences with its recent summer collaboration with Tombolo Company
