This denim blue colorway is so good. I do love a navy sneaker—it’s more interesting than black but still wears like a neutral. But denim blue feels like it has even more personality. We love the 990v6s, and Nike just launched a whole denim-colored package. For something to wear in addition to your normal neutral sneakers, these are a solid option.

Metallics are another excellent way to play with color that doesn’t involve really a whole lot of color. Asics Gel-Kinetics are low-key, with just hits of silver, as are the Saucony Progrids. The New Balance 740s have a little more silver surface area. But for the real OG revival, Wales Bonner has dropped a few all-silver Adidas sneakers. The Millenniums are a great way to test the trend.

It’s not like an Air Max 95 every really goes out of style; it’s a core component of outfits from any number of subcultures. But we’ve been seeing them pop up more than normal. As 95 lovers, we are obviously here for it. Get a neutral color (hard push on those right now) or something a little more retro and fun. And if we’re trend-maxxing here, Nike and Levi’s teamed up on a joint denim Air Max 95. Cool as hell.

This fall isn’t about the original super high-tech Gorpcore thing. Dressing like the apocalypse is coming is always cool, but we’re feeling the softer interpretation of trail shoes this fall.

We’re coming in with shoes that can be used on the trail, but don’t have to—making them a great option for wearing in less-than-ideal conditions no matter where you are. The colors are neutral and jewel-toned, the uppers mix textiles while staying breathable.

Retro-future is really the only way to accurately describe this style, which blends a ’90s-ish dad shoe with an insane midsole. Brands are doing it everywhere, for actual running and just for the vibes.
