Just last month, it was confirmed that the Sussex family would be moving back to the United Kingdom for an extended period of time. The news came six years after Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stepped down as senior working royals and moved a young Prince Archie across the ocean to Montecito, California—and now, we have a first glimpse at the family’s new chapter.

In a new Instagram post, Meghan shared clips of 7-year-old Archie and 5-year-old Princess Lilibet riding bikes around the countryside, stomping in puddles in their rain boots (or rather, their wellies), and staying warm by the fire. Elsewhere, she and Harry can be seen hand in hand, enjoying a nature walk. The duchess added the British flag to the video montage, along with a heart, sending love to her new home.

While it is unclear how long the family will stay in the country (they still own their home in California), People reported that both children will be attending school in the U.K. for the 2026-2027 academic year. The move did not change Meghan and Harry’s status as non-working royals, though the outlet’s source revealed that King Charles III “welcomes the opportunity to see more of the Sussex family in a private and personal capacity.”

Charles is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, and earlier this summer, Meghan and Harry took their children to visit him and Queen Camilla for the first time in four years. During the trip, the family reportedly did not see Prince William and Princess Kate.
