An audience of more than 1,200 women heard from esteemed CEOs, entrepreneurs, authors and actors at the Executive Women Gathering by the Executive Forum on Wednesday.

Taking place at the RDS, the fifth annual Executive Women Gathering offered a mix of in-depth interviews, informative speeches and networking opportunities for women in business.

The line-up of speakers included entrepreneur, business guru and author Sahar Hashemi, Three Ireland CEO Elaine Carey, and Amazon’s country leader for Ireland Alison Dunn.

Carey took over as Three CEO in 2025 and oversaw customer, revenue and profit growth during her first year as well as the completion of Three’s €1.1bn investment in its 4G and 5G networks.

Actress and screenwriter Amy Huberman discussed deciding not to “give [her] energy” to negative criticism and to “get busy living” when faced with procrastination and self-doubt

The afternoon session featured Laura Dowling, better known as The Fabulous Pharmacist, who spoke with humour about her efforts to rid Irish women of shame around their sexual health and her natural supplements brand fabÜ.

Gate Theatre artistic director Róisín McBrinn, The Traitors Ireland star Siobhan McSweeney and Emmy-winning actress Jane Seymour completed the line-up of the event, which was hosted by Baz Ashmawy.

In conversation with Business Plus editor Sarah Freeman, McSweeney spoke candidly about her years toiling away from the spotlight before Derry Girls, the radicalness of Irish women and turning down jobs that don’t align with her values.

She also discussed the importance of fashion in her role presenting The Traitors Ireland and the relationships she has developed with local designers, including one who travelled by bus from Donegal to deliver a dress to her.

Now in its fifth year, the mission of EWG is to create a unique opportunity for successful and talented women to gather and connect with like-minded female executives and entrepreneurs.
