SUI’s Stunning 54% Surge in Just Four Weeks: The Crypto Breakout You Can’t Afford to Ignore!

So here’s a curveball for you: while Bitcoin and Ether jogged along during the recent market recovery, SUI—yes, SUI—took a sprint with a jaw-dropping 54% surge in just 30 days ending early October 2026. What’s cooking behind this sudden rocket? I mean, it’s not like tokens just decide to glow up overnight. This spike is riding shotgun alongside some heavy-hitter moves: Bitwise rolling out an institutional-grade yield product, a record-shattering throughput announcement at Sui’s own developer shindig, plus Samsung letting its Galaxy users peek into the Sui realm via USDC integration. Kinda makes you wonder—can SUI keep this pace, or is this just a “blink and you miss it” moment? Buckle up, because we’re diving deep into the numbers and the nuts and bolts behind this rally. SUI, the native token of the Sui Network, climbed approximately 54% over a 30-day stretch ending in early October 2026. That pace left both Bitcoin and Ether behind during a broader market recovery.

The rally didn’t happen in a vacuum. It landed alongside a run of ecosystem news, including a new institutional yield product from Bitwise and a record throughput figure unveiled at Sui’s own developer conference.

The numbers behind the move

Over the past four weeks, the dollar value of assets deposited in Sui’s decentralized finance apps grew 15.5%. That metric is known as total value locked, or TVL.

The four-week gain came even after a 5.2% decline over the most recent week. The pullback lined up with SUI’s price cooling off, which matters because a chunk of that locked value is denominated in the token itself.

Sui’s DeFi TVL peaked at roughly $1.21 billion on September 22, 2026. Contributions from NAVI Protocol, a lending platform on the network, helped push the figure to that high.

On the trading side, SUI moved between $1.15 and $1.27 during the period. By early October it was changing hands at approximately $1.12 to $1.15.

At those levels, SUI’s market capitalization sat around $4.6 billion. Roughly 4.1 billion tokens were in circulation, out of a maximum supply of 10 billion, meaning about 41% of the eventual supply was on the market.

What fueled the rally

Several ecosystem developments arrived in close succession.

First, Bitwise launched its PPLUS Premium+ RWA Vault on Sui. RWA stands for real-world assets, the industry term for bringing traditional financial instruments like credit or treasuries onto a blockchain. The vault targets a net yield of more than 10% and is aimed at institutional assets.

Second, Sui posted a record of 40.6 million transactions per second during a stress test at its Basecamp conference, held October 7-8. The test was conducted off-chain.

That caveat deserves a moment. An off-chain stress test shows what the underlying technology can handle under controlled conditions, which is different from sustained real-world usage on the live network.

Third, Samsung announced USDC support for its Galaxy devices, with Sui capabilities integrated into the setup. USDC is a dollar-pegged stablecoin, and putting it in front of Galaxy users potentially exposes millions of people to Sui-powered features.

The long road back

SUI hit an all-time high of around $5.35 in January 2025. At its early October 2026 price, the token remained roughly 78% below that peak.

Put differently, a holder who bought at the top would need the token to roughly quadruple from here just to break even.

What this means for investors and the Sui ecosystem

With only about 41% of the maximum supply circulating, the remaining tokens represent future supply that could enter the market over time. Investors evaluating SUI’s market cap should keep the fully diluted picture in view.

The recent 5.2% weekly TVL drop is another reminder of how tightly Sui’s DeFi metrics track its token. When price falls, the ecosystem’s headline numbers shrink with it.
