As a young professional living in a huge city, juggling dozens of tasks each day, my time in the gym is totally sacred. As such, I need performance wear—sports bras, workout tops, and training sneakers—that meets me where I am. I’ve been fortunate to test (probably) hundreds of pieces of athleisure at this point. And right now, only one pair of leggings that I own is unmatched when it comes to blending performance, style, and comfort: the new On Train Tights with FormTec™.

I tested the On Train Tights for a week, wearing them while strength training, walking on the StairMaster, and running—and I fell in love with them. Here’s why it’s worth adding to your activewear drawer.

The fabric compresses and sculpts my legs, keeping everything locked in.

I don’t always like wearing high-waisted tights, but these are very flattering due to the compression of the fabric. On the StairMaster and during runs, they held everything in without feeling constricting; I almost felt like they were hugging my waist. Whether I was climbing another step, sprinting to break a mile PR, or lunging my way through a strength workout, the On Train Tights sculpted, shaped, and supported my every move.

The On FormTec™ is compressive, but still soft to the touch; I’d wear this pair of leggings just to relax on the couch. Plus, with decently thick fabric, these will keep me warm on winter runs—and I can’t wait to sweat test them in cooler temperatures. Still, they were moisture-wicking and showed absolutely no signs of sweat, even when I wore them in hot, humid summer weather.

The high-waisted silhouette is flattering, but the waistband stays put.

The fabric doesn’t just perform—the actual design of the leggings also holds up. So many leggings tend to sag in the waistband or crotch area once I start moving, especially when they’re high-waisted, but not these ones. When I’m stretching, twisting, reaching, and sprinting, the On FormTec™ stays up and feels very secure. During runs, I never have to stop and readjust my bottoms.

As a bonus, there are deep pockets on both sides of the tights; they hold my phone steady, but still make it easy to retrieve if I want to check the time or switch the song I’m listening to, unlike some other brands. However, the pockets are still decently large, so I could also fit my keys and a few running gels in there if I didn’t feel like wearing a running belt.

The tights move with me.

The stretchiness of the On FormTec™ can’t be denied. With an adaptive fit and precision-fitting support, the Train Tights shape every single step I take, whether I’m in the middle of a run or walking down the street. While so many leggings can feel too tight and suffocating, the ease, flexibility, and breathability of the fabric helps me reach PRs in the weight room effortlessly. Best of all, it helps me feel confident while doing so.

I’d recommend this pair of tights for any woman who’s constantly on the go and looking for a solid pair of workout bottoms to support her every move. Whether you’re a power walker, heavy lifter, or marathon runner, these leggings will be with you each step of the way.
