Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Teresa Morahan as its Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector lead for the UK and Ireland.
Morahan is an audit partner with more than 30 years’ experience and has served as BDO’s global TMT leader since 2022.
She has spent 28 years with the firm, advising technology companies and clients in the pharmaceutical, medtech and professional services sectors.
Her experience spans fast-growing businesses, international companies and listed groups. In her new role, she will bring together BDO’s expertise across Ireland and the UK to strengthen its offering to businesses operating in a rapidly evolving sector.
Morahan said she was looking forward to working with colleagues across both markets and BDO’s international network to support clients as they navigate technological change.
“Having spent more than 25 years in audit and much of my career working closely with technology and telecommunications businesses, I’ve seen first-hand how quickly the sector evolves and the opportunities and challenges that creates for businesses,” she said.
She added that developments in artificial intelligence, digital transformation and new business models were continuing to reshape the industry.
“I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across Ireland, the UK and our global network to support our TMT clients as they grow, innovate and navigate change,” Morahan said.
Brian McEnery, regional managing partner of BDO Ireland, said access to expert advice was vital for businesses seeking to capitalise on opportunities arising from rapid technological change.

“Teresa has an exceptional track record of helping clients navigate complex transitions and achieve sustainable growth,” he said.
McEnery added that her industry knowledge and leadership would be valuable as BDO expanded its support for high-growth enterprises across Ireland and the UK.
