The new IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card (see rates and fees) recently launched with plenty of premium perks. These perks include an Anniversary Free Night with a redemption cap of 60,000 points, a $200 airline statement credit and a $75 Food and Beverage Reward each quarter (up to $300 per calendar year).

But, one of the most compelling reasons to sign up for the new IHG Premier Select Card now is its welcome offer of 200,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.

IHG One Rewards uses dynamic award pricing, so the rates in this story might not be available when you book. But whether you want to stretch 200,000 points into a longer city stay or use them for a shorter stay at an aspirational resort, there are plenty of options. As you decide how to redeem your points, consider how many nights your points can cover, any mandatory fees you’ll need to pay and which properties sound most appealing.

Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove Monterey

The Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove Monterey, located about 100 miles south of San Francisco, offers a relaxing, tranquil retreat in a walkable seaside community.

If you apply and get approved for the IHG Premier Select Card and earn the 200,000-point welcome offer, it could get you a stay of up to five nights at the Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove.

This stay benefits from the IHG Premier Select Card’s fourth night free benefit, which lets you pay zero points for every fourth night when you redeem IHG points for a stay of four nights or longer. On the selected dates, the five-night stay would cost 186,000 points (you’d also need to pay a nightly resort fee of $67).

The Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove offers ocean views and is surrounded by cypress trees and historic Victorian homes. Plus, as is standard at most Kimpton properties, the property has a nightly social hour, in-room yoga mats and is pet-friendly.

This could be an especially appealing redemption if you want a relaxing California coast getaway, since 200,000 points can cover five nights on some dates.

Kimpton Era Midtown New York

If you prefer to visit New York City, you could stay up to six nights in an essential room at the newly opened Kimpton Era Midtown New York for 200,000 points or less on select dates.

For example, you can stay for six nights in February 2027 for 185,000 points (you’d also need to pay a $52 daily destination fee).

Getting up to six nights in Midtown Manhattan from 200,000 points makes this an appealing option if you prefer a longer premium city stay over a resort splurge.

InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk

If you want to visit the Alamo and stay along the San Antonio Riverwalk, you can redeem 200,000 IHG One Rewards points for a stay of up to eight nights at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk.

On sample dates I selected, an eight-night stay costs 174,000 points after two free nights through the IHG fourth-night free perk. However, you’d also need to pay a guest amenity fee of $30 per night.

If you don’t need eight nights along the San Antonio Riverwalk, you could book four nights and save some of the 200,000-point welcome offer for another stay.

Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs

Prefer a trip to Palm Springs, California? If so, you could use the IHG Premier Select Card’s 200,000-point welcome offer to book up to four nights at the centrally located Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs.

Staying during the week can save you some points. But if you want to stay over the weekend, paying zero points for a fourth night that lands on a Friday or Saturday thanks to the fourth-night reward perk can save you a sizable chunk of points. For example, here’s a four-night stay costing 171,000 points.

The Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs has two restaurants, two bars, six pickleball courts and a tranquil rooftop pool. It charges a $69-per-night amenity fee.

InterContinental The Willard Washington D.C.

TPG’s Christine Gallipeau loves InterContinental The Willard Washington D.C., telling me, “Every time I have stayed, the service has been exceptional, and as a history buff, there’s so much to geek out over while exploring the property.”

And Christine isn’t alone: IHG says The Willard is one of its most loved properties.

You can redeem 190,000 points for a two-night stay at The Willard on a wide variety of dates. There’s a $41 daily amenity fee, but you can choose from both classic and premium rooms on many dates when booking an award stay.

The location of The Willard is also excellent for exploring Washington, D.C. As Christine told me, it “easily has one of the best locations for sightseeing, with the White House just across the street and the Washington Monument (and so many Smithsonian museums) a short walk away.”

Kimpton Hotel Fontenot

Looking to visit New Orleans? TPG’s Lyndsey Matthews thinks the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot makes an excellent New Orleans home base for families and groups of friends traveling together, thanks to its central location right off Canal Street and spacious guest rooms.

Lyndsey told me, “Don’t miss brunch or happy hour at its opulent Peacock Room before heading out to catch a front-row seat to whatever parade happens to be rolling through the neighborhood during Mardi Gras.”

Mardi Gras parades tend to occur from late January through Fat Tuesday, and you can snag a five-night stay during this time for 185,000 points plus a destination fee of $35 per night.

Covering five nights for 185,000 points can make this an especially compelling option if you want to settle in for several days of Mardi Gras festivities rather than make a quick weekend trip.

Kimpton Virgilio Polanco

You can also secure up to four nights at the art-forward Kimpton Virgilio Polanco in Mexico City, Mexico, with 200,000 IHG One Rewards points. Mexico City is one of my favorite Latin American destinations, and it’s a nonstop flight away from many U.S. cities.

A four-night stay is bookable on some dates with the 200,000-point welcome offer thanks to the IHG Premier Select Card’s fourth night free benefit on award stays. For example, this four-night stay would cost 195,000 points.

The Kimpton Virgilio Polanco is located within a 1940s art deco building in Mexico City’s stylish Polanco district. The property features handmade tiles and authentic Mexican design, with each of its 48 rooms offering a unique look and feel.

This Kimpton is one of the few options discussed in this article that doesn’t have a mandatory nightly fee. This can make it especially appealing if you want to keep your out-of-pocket costs low on an award stay.

Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa

A longtime favorite of many IHG loyalists is the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. Most award nights at this property cost 70,000 points, so you can usually book a two-night weekend getaway for 140,000 points.

Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony, plus guests will enjoy three restaurants, an on-site spa, the Camp Seafire kids’ zone, a pool, a beach and water sports.

At 140,000 points for two nights on many dates, the Kimpton Seafire leaves you with a meaningful chunk of the welcome offer for another redemption. However, its $95 nightly resort fee is the highest among the properties on this list.

Kimpton Grand Roatan Resort and Spa

If you want to book a longer resort stay in Latin America with your IHG Premier Select Card welcome offer, consider the Kimpton Grand Roatan Resort and Spa.

As TPG’s Lauren Wassum told me, “If you look up tropical paradise in the dictionary, it should include a picture of the Kimpton Grand Roatan. The resort is surrounded by lush foliage and has immediate access to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the world’s second-largest barrier reef system, so you can snorkel or scuba dive directly from the beach.”

You can book up to a five-night stay at this Kimpton with 200,000 IHG One Rewards points.

As with many of the other stays discussed in this story, you can benefit from the IHG Premier Select Card’s fourth night free benefit on award stays of four nights or longer. This lets you stretch your welcome offer to cover five nights instead of four on select dates.

For example, this five-night stay would cost 188,000 points (you’d also need to pay a $69 resort fee per night).

Lauren told me, “The dining is incredible, and the on-property Kao Kamasa Spa is a must-visit with a cliffside garden pool to enjoy views of the turquoise waters.”

Getting up to five nights at a beachfront resort from 200,000 points makes this one of the more compelling options for travelers who want both a longer stay and a tropical resort experience.

Kimpton Vividora Hotel

When I asked TPG’s Tanner Saunders about his favorite IHG premium property, he quickly responded that the Kimpton Vividora Hotel in Barcelona, Spain, checks all his boxes: incredible location in the Gothic Quarter, trendy design and a rooftop pool with picture-perfect views of one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

And I agree. Award rates vary drastically at the Kimpton Vividora, but you can book up to a five-night stay with 200,000 IHG One Rewards points. For example, this five-night stay in January 2027 costs 189,000 points.

What I remember most about my stay at this Kimpton was its convenient location, enjoying a drink while soaking in the views at the rooftop bar, La Terraza de Vivi, and the peacefulness I experienced standing on my room’s balcony.

InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hotel

Prefer to go wine tasting in Bordeaux and stay in luxury? If so, the InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hotel is worth considering.

As TPG’s Eric Rosen told me, “It’s a gorgeous historic property right in the center of the city across from the opera.” Eric noted the property was renovated in “a very opulent style, by Jacques Garcia.”

You can book up to a four-night stay at the InterContinental Bordeaux with the IHG Premier Select Card’s 200,000-point welcome offer. This example four-night stay costs 184,000 points. And if you’re into fine dining and packing formal attire, you’re in luck. Eric says the hotel’s Gordon Ramsay restaurant, Le Pressoir d’Argent, has a Christofle silver lobster press.

Bottom line

The IHG Premier Select Card’s 200,000-point welcome offer gives you plenty of options, whether you want to stretch your points across a longer city stay or splurge on a shorter stay at a luxury resort.
