After only a few months of waiting, Season 2 of With Love, Meghan is finally here, and this time around, Duchess Meghan has even more tips, more flower sprinkles, and more surprise anecdotes about her life, including her relationship with husband Prince Harry.
As it turns out, the Duke of Sussex was the first to say “I love you,” which Meghan reveals during episode three, “Easy as Pie,” where she and Tan France discuss their relationships.
After divulging that he met his husband online nearly 20 years ago, France turns to Meghan and asks: “Was there a moment that you were like, ‘Oh, no I know that I love this guy’?” To which the duchess says, “Yes, that was our third date.”
“You fell in love on your third date?” France asks in surprise.
Meghan then goes on to explain the story: “We met in Botswana and we camped for five days together… You really get to know somebody when you’re in a little tent together and it’s like [Meghan then proceeds to act out a conversation with Harry] ‘What is that outside the tent?’ ‘That’s an elephant.’ ‘Are we gonna be safe?’ ‘Yeah you’re safe.’ ‘Okay.’”
France then asks who said “I love you” first, to which Meghan smiles and says, “He told me.” The Queer Eye host laughs and notes: “You’re starting to blush. I will stop my line of questioning.”
In season one of With Love, Meghan, Prince Harry makes a cameo in the finale, where he attends a brunch that Meghan hosts for her friends. During the episode, he congratulates his wife, saying: “Well done. You did a great job. I love it.”
Later, after Meghan makes a speech to the group, Harry holds up his drink and cheers her. “To you,” he says.
Sadly, the Duke of Sussex does not appear in this second season; instead, the episodes focus on Meghan with her guests, as they discuss recipes, homemaking hacks, and general lifestyle tips.
Meghan does talk a lot about her family throughout the show, but it’s clear that she likes to keep a certain level of separation from her on-screen life to her private life. In fact, the series isn’t even filmed at the duchess’s real home. She explained why during an interview with People earlier this year, where she said: “I wanted to protect that safe haven… Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house!”
