QUICK AND EASY CINNAMON APPLES (15-Minute Recipe)
4 cups (500 grams) chopped apples
3 tablespoons water
1.5 tablespoons butter
1.5 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
Chop apples into 1/2 inch cubes. You can cut them bigger if you’d like, but I like a smaller chop. What’s most important is that they are relatively equal in size.
Add the apples and 3 tablespoons of water to a 12-inch skillet. Cover and cook over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes.
Remove the lid and cook for an additional 3 minutes, or until most of the water has evaporated and the apples have softened.
Add the butter to the pan and toss with the apples until they are lightly coated. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Add maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until well combined. Cook for an additional 2-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the apples are soft and tender.
Serve and enjoy! I love these apples served over Greek yogurt with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon and a small handful of granola.
