Elle Fanning’s Telluride Look: The Unexpected Power Move That’s Shaking Up Back-to-School Vibes!
It’s Labor Day weekend—a time when you might find yourself torn between two worlds. On one hand, there’s the dazzling allure of the Telluride Film Festival, where cinema lovers and industry insiders are glued to premieres and press conferences, soaking up the buzz under Colorado skies. On the other, for many, it’s that bittersweet signal that summer’s wrapping up—white jeans get tucked away, and back-to-school shopping carts start filling fast. Now, here’s a question for you: how do you balance the glitz and glamour of a film festival with the cozy sweater weather and the practical hustle of seasonal change? For Elle Fanning, it seems, the answer is to do both with effortless style—rocking fall fashion from the mountains while promoting her upcoming film, Sentimental Value. If you’re curious about what the weekend really looked like when Hollywood meets sweater weather, stick around—you won’t want to miss this blend of cinematic sparkle and seasonal chic. LEARN MORE
It’s Labor Day weekend, and that means two things.
If you’re a movie connoisseur or in the entertainment industry, the weekend is likely marked by tuning into the Telluride Film Festival discourse: watching press conference clips, scrolling through images of your favorite actors, or maybe even attending the premieres if you’re lucky enough to make it to Colorado.
If you’re not a film fanatic, the long weekend might symbolize the end of summer, embarking on back-to-school shopping trips and putting away those white jeans.
For Elle Fanning, the weekend has meant both. In the mountains to promote her forthcoming project, Sentimental Value, she broke out sweaters, blazers, and all the best that fall fashion has to offer. In one look, pulled from the Row—a.k.a. the reigning champion of quiet luxury—Fanning donned leather loafers peeking out from dark corduroy trousers and layered a gray cashmere sweater over a simple white button-down top. The only pieces not designed by the Olsen twins were her Persol sunglasses, Cartier watch, and Gucci shoulder bag.
Elsewhere in Telluride, she swapped the button-down for a plain white tee and the cozy sweater for an oversized blazer, worn with matching trousers and white heels. The effortlessly elegant look was elevated even further with her rosy cheeks and blonde hair pulled back into a low bun.
Sentimental Value, Joachim Trier’s Norwegian comedy-drama, made its North American debut at Telluride this weekend, following its premiere in Cannes last May (where Fanning declared it a “Joachim Trier Summer”). Starring Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas and Stellan Skarsgård alongside Fanning, it will hit theaters on November 7.
