Unlock Fall’s Ultimate Style Secret: 10 Jackets You Didn’t Know You Needed to Dominate the Season

Leather jackets have this undeniable edge – literally – but let’s face it, not everyone’s lining up to channel their inner biker or drop serious cash on one. So, what’s the style-savvy guy supposed to do when he craves that rugged vibe without the wallet shock or the rough-around-the-edges feel? Enter suede trucker jackets, the perfect middle ground between luxe and laid-back. Now, I’ve learned the hard way that if you’re hunting for quality, anything under a grand usually means you’re settling for materials and cuts that just don’t hold up. My top pick? The Polo Ralph Lauren suede trucker – it nails that classic silhouette without overdoing it, hitting right at the hips with an olive color that’s anything but basic. Whether you’re suiting up for date night or just throwing on a tee and jeans, this beauty holds its own. Curious about the other options that dodge the pitfalls and deliver on style? Let’s dive in. I also love a leather jacket, but it might be too rough around the edges for some guys. Might be too expensive for others. The fashion middle ground is suede, which several brands cut into a trucker style. You can find a good one for $1,000. (Any less than that, and I think you’re getting shitty cuts and materials.)

Our favorite is from Polo Ralph Lauren. For Purple Label, Ralph usually has a more luxe option that’s made in Italy without the workwear-inspired pleats and with a really phenomenal suede. But for Polo, you get a more everyman cut, lower quality (still great for the price) suede, and solid construction. It looks put together enough for a date-night dinner, but will do just as well with a tee and jeans on a night out. And like I said with the Levi’s jacket, this one hits just at your natural hips, perfect for that old-school trucker look. I also adore that olive color.

For more color options, Todd Snyder makes a great version; though I think it suffers from too long torso syndrome. Schott makes a biker-inspired cut that I love. Quince makes one for $300, which I have not seen in real life and am highly skeptical of.
