The experience of falling asleep on the couch and waking up at 1 in the morning to the sound of the George Lopez theme song is universal and for most, utterly nostalgic. The early 2000s sitcom was led by the show’s namesake and took viewers through the ins and outs of life with the Lopez family. From parenting woes to overbearing in-laws, George Lopez was hilarious and relatable, and despite concluding in 2007, still holds up. Here, see what the cast has been up to since the show ended.

George Lopez portrayed the family patriarch, and after the show concluded, he continued to have a successful career both in front of the camera on television and in films, as well as in stand-up. The actor went on to host his own talk show, Lopez Tonight, and acted in series like Saint George and Lopez. He jumped back into the sitcom world with his recent series, Lopez vs. Lopez, where he was joined by his real-life daughter, Mayan. 

Constance Marie as Angie Lopez

Constance Marie brought to life George’s loving wife Angie, and she also continued to have a successful career on screen. After the sitcom ended, she acted in the teen drama Switched at Birth. She joined forces with her former on-screen hubby in an episode of Lopez, and could later be seen in series such as Law & Order: True Crime, Undone, With Love and more. 

Masiela Lusha as Carmen Lopez

Masiela Lusha played Angie and George’s teenage daughter, and her character allowed for a handful of relatable parenting moments. After the show ended, she continued to act, appearing in films like Fatal Instinct (2014), Forgotten Evil (2017) and most recently, The Doctor With Two Faces (2025). In addition to her work on screen, Lusha devotes much of herself to motherhood as a mom to two children, as well as her humanitarian efforts. 

Luis Armand Garcia as Max Lopez

Luis Armand Garcia played George and Angie’s young son Max, and his portrayal of the kiddo made him a fan favorite. After George Lopez ended, however, he stepped away from acting and now lives a quiet life outside of the spotlight with no social media presence. 

Belita Moreno as Benny Lopez

Belita Moreno played Benny, George’s tough-as-nails mother who was always sure to press her son’s buttons, and after the show concluded, she could also be seen on the screen across various genres. You may have caught her in episodes of Fairly Legal, Red Band Society, On My Block, or most recently, Lopez vs. Lopez.

Valente Rodriguez as Ernie

Valente played George’s close friend and colleague Ernie, and while that might be the role he’s most known for, he also left his mark on series like Happily Divorced and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. 

Emiliano Diez as Victor

Playing the part of George’s ever-so-frustrating father-in-law was Emiliano Diez, and over the last few years, he’s appeared in projects such as Materialists (2025), Blue Bloods, Designated Survivor, One Day at a Time and Ray Donovan
