Irish secure transaction platform Trustap has partnered with DoneDeal, the country’s largest car buying and selling website, to introduce Reserve Online, a new feature aimed at reshaping the way cars are bought and sold nationwide.
The tool allows buyers to reserve a car online, risk-free, at any time of day, including evenings and weekends—when more than 54% of car-buying decisions are made.
For dealers, the feature delivers verified reservation deposits from genuine buyers, cutting down on uncommitted enquiries and boosting conversion rates.
According to both companies, the system enables dealerships to operate around the clock, securing leads even when showrooms are closed.
Early feedback from partner dealerships points to stronger lead quality, faster sales cycles, and increased annual stock turnover.
Through the service, buyers can reserve a vehicle for as little as €149, which holds the car for five days.
During that window, they can arrange finance, book a test drive, or speak with the dealership.
Dealers are notified instantly, and the car is flagged as reserved on the platform.
Trustap manages the deposit securely until the sale is completed, at which point the amount is deducted from the vehicle price.
If the buyer decides not to proceed, the deposit is refunded in full.
“This is a big leap forward for the Irish motor trade,” said Eoin Lally, Trustap’s Director of Strategy: Motors.
“We’re giving buyers the confidence to act fast, and dealerships the tools to move serious leads through the funnel, securely and transparently.”
Rob Hume, General Manager of DoneDeal, added: “At DoneDeal, we’re focused on helping people buy a car with confidence and helping dealers connect with ready-to-go customers.

“This new reserve online feature does exactly that, it removes friction, provides dealers with more qualified buyers, and gives people the reassurance they need to move quickly on the right car.
“It’s another step toward making buying a car feel as good as it should.”
