When Donnie Wahlberg was just a new kid on the block, he was in a relationship with Kimberly Fey. The couple first connected in the early 1990s after collaborating on an album for Wahlberg’s music group, New Kids on the Block.

On March 4,1993, they welcomed their first child, son Xavier Alexander Wahlberg. A few years later, the duo decided to make it official and tied the knot on August 20, 1999. Exactly two years after that, Wahlberg and Fey had a second son, Elijah Hendrix Wahlberg, on August 20, 2001.

In early 2008, the couple separated and filed for divorce by August of that year, but things weren’t finalized until September 2010. The former pair have remained friends and co-parent their two sons.

Just two years after his divorce from Fey, Wahlberg met the next and current love of his life. The actor and Jenny McCarthy first met on the set of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. They didn’t begin dating until a bit later.

In March 2013, Wahlberg made an appearance on McCarthy’s talk show and after the taping, he asked her out.

“I don’t know if I was really randy or really ready, but he was there and I gave him my phone number,” McCarthy recalled later. “I’ve never given a guy my number, but I was interested.”

A few months later, they began dating, which they made official with a red carpet appearance in August. In April 2014, the duo got engaged and tied the knot towards the end of that summer on August 31.

Although Wahlberg and McCarthy don’t have any biological children together, they do have a blended family of Wahlberg’s two sons and McCarthy’s son, Evan, from her previous marriage to actor John Asher.

Sonequa Martin-Green and Kenric Green

Sonequa Martin-Green, who will portray Detective Lena Silver on Boston Blue, has been married to actor Kenric Green for over a decade. The two first crossed paths in 2009 while working on a play in New Jersey together called Fetch Clay, Make Man.

Not long after their initial meeting, the pair began dating and married on December 4, 2010. The couple has welcomed two children together: son Kenric Justin II, born in 2015, and daughter Saraiyah Chaunté, born in 2020.

Now, 15 years after walking down the aisle, Martin-Green and her husband find themselves in an interesting position socially.

“All of a sudden we’ve been married a real long time,” she said of her husband, “and we are the seasoned married couple in the room. Now, we are the ones that people ask for advice from. [It] feels like it has been a lifetime, but that we’ve also just begun. You’re marrying that person, but that’s not who you’re going to stay married to because that person is going to change and they’re going to be completely different a year from now, five years from now, 10 years from now, and so are you.”

Maggie Lawson, who will star as Sarah Silver in the upcoming series, was previously married to actor Ben Koldyke. The duo previously starred in the 2013 sitcom, Back in the Game, which is likely how they first met. In November 2014, Lawson and Koldyke got engaged and they made it official on August 8, 2015. The couple never had any children together and in early 2017, they filed for divorce.

Ernie Hudson and Jeannie Moore

Ernie Hudson, who will appear as Reverend Peters, has been married twice, but his first marriage to Jeannie Moore wasn’t exactly a magical one. The couple first met as teenagers in high school, but their reason for marriage, it seems, was more for convenience. Hudson shared years later that although they married when he was 18 and she was 16 in 1963, he had wanted to be on his own and to help Moore.

“We didn’t know each other,” he said. “I was trying to help her out because she was complaining about having to wash dishes.” At the time, Moore was pregnant with their first child, Ernie Hudson Jr., who was born on March 9, 1964.

They later welcomed a second son, Rahaman Hudson, though it’s unclear when he was born. Hudson and Moore split up in 1976 after 13 years of marriage.

The circumstances of how Ernie Hudson met his second wife haven’t been made public, but the actor began dating Linda Kingberg in 1976. Hudson wasn’t keen on the idea of marriage after his first divorce, but that changed once they met.

“We were together for basically nine years before I finally said, ‘You know what? We’re together. So let’s just go ahead and marry,’” Hudson recalled.

Gloria Reuben, who will star as Mae Silver on Boston Blue, was once married to Wayne Isaak for a brief time. Reuben tied the knot with the television producer and music executive in 1999. The couple never had any children and by 2003, they had divorced.
