Best Electric Pressure Washer
Greenworks Pro Brushless
We almost always call out when Greenworks power tools are on sale, and that’s for two reasons. One, the brand is expensive. And two, everything they make is really damn good. This 3,000 PSI brushless power washer is no exception. From gutter grime to helping you save on trips to the car wash, this is the electric washer that can do it all quickly, quietly, and without any gasoline or oil burned.
It’s pretty smart too. Using the brand’s trademarked JetFlow tech, the motor will adjust so you always have the most optimal speed and water flow. With a strong frame, and easy vertical storage it’s hard to ask for much more in a household pressure washer.

Best Gas Pressure Washer
Simpson PS3228 PowerShot
The gas pressure washer is old school, but there’s some freedom in that. If you have a lot of property or work as a contractor and are doing this 24/7, this is where power meets portability. This Simpson PowerShot has a 3,300 PSI pressure rating and 2.5 gallons per minute water speed. If those numbers mean nothing to you, all you need to know is this behemoth is out of your league. If you’re in the market for a pressure wash upgrade, though, this might be the kind of thing you’re looking for.
They are obvious disadvantages to going gas. They’re noisy and can have the odor of heavy machinery, but the primary thing here is the negative environmental impact. These tools have been proven to contribute to pollution and lower air quality. To be honest, you probably don’t even need something this powerful—and if you do there are finally electric options on par.

Best Cordless
EGO Power+ Electric Pressure Washer
If you don’t want to be tied down to a power outlet or generator, you have two options. Go gas (requires upkeep, produces pollutants) or go EGO. This brand of battery-powered tools offers powerful tools with no strings attached. Literally, this electric pressure washer is a cordless wonder.
And this thing delivers. While it can maybe hit an hour (although its typically less) on a single battery, every second of that time will be spent doing high performance washing. It’s time to finally go to town on all that brick.
The only caveat is that this package runs a pretty penny. However once you’ve invested in one pair of batteries with a charge, it will work with other EGO power tools. If you’re already in the “EGOsystem” you can pick up just the pressure washer on its own for $550.

What to Know Before You Buy
There’s a few key words and numbers to look out for when shopping for pressure washers.
- PSI (pressure per square inch): This is the measurement of forcefulness of a pressure washer. When we say one washer is more powerful than another, we tend to start by looking at the PSI.
- What’s good PSI? Generally, around 2,000 is good for most personal power washing.
- GPM (gallons per minute): This is a measurement of flow rate and correlates with speed, not pressure. Boiled down, it’s a measurement of how gallons of water can pass through a pressure washer’s hose in a given minute.
- What’s good GPM? Really anything between 1 and 2.5, but this is very much a more the merrier situation.
- Gas or Electric? Unless you need to do professional, heavy-duty cleaning on a regular basis, go electric. They are better for the environment, don’t require as much maintenance, and tend to be less expensive.
