Bad Bunny is officially gearing up to grace music’s biggest stage.

The NFL announced during Sunday night’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers that the Puerto Rican superstar was officially confirmed to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Bad Bunny joins fellow musicians such as Kendrick Lamar, Usher, Rihanna, The Weeknd, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, in securing a headlining spot for a Super Bowl halftime show in recent years. Next year’s appearance isn’t the first time the musician has appeared during a Super Bowl halftime however; he and Colombian star J Balvin joined Jennifer Lopez for a joint surprise cameo during the 2020 Super Bowl years back. This time around, Benito will make history as the first solo Latino performer to take the stage.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… ,” said Bad Bunny in an official statement regarding the halftime news. “This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

The singer teased the news minutes ahead of the official confirmation writing in Spanish on X to his fans: “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States.” He followed that tweet with the official announcement that read, “Super Bowl LX. Bay Area. February 2026. #AppleMusicHalftime” alongside a video of him sitting on top of a football goal post on a beach.

Bad Bunny previously shared that following his historic 30-night residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico that he would skip touring the United States for fear of ongoing ICE raids that could affect his Latino fans.

Roc Nation CEO (and fellow global superstar) Jay Z — who selects the halftime performer each year — also shared his excitement for the upcoming performance in a statement.

“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” said Jay Z. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Tonight’s announcement comes after weeks of rumors surrounding who would take the stage for Super Bowl LX; names which included Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and even Adele.

There’s no doubt that Bad Bunny is prepared to take on the pressure that comes with headlining a show like Super Bowl halftime. To end his recent San Juan residency, he surprised fans with a livestream concert from El Coliseo that brought in a whopping 11 million viewers globally and became the Prime Video’s most streamed live music event ever.
