Beginning tomorrow, Italian culture descends upon Manhattan in “Icons of Italy.” More specifically, 56 Italian luxury brands across fashion, food and beverage, design, automotives, and more, will host installations in their stores, transforming into cultural spaces to celebrate Italian creativity.

The festivities run from April 9 to 11, just ahead of “Made-in-Italy” Day which falls on April 15, Leonardo da Vinci’s birthday. Through artisanal demonstrations, dedicated workshops, wine tastings, and more experiences personalized to each brand, visitors are invited to discover how local Italian cultures, materials, and traditions obtain universal relevance, extending beyond national borders and, in this case, into New York City. After all, American collectors, consumers, designers, and cultural institutions have helped make Italian excellence a global cultural phenomenon; this festival further celebrates the enduring dialogue between two cultures.

Participating stores include fashion favorites Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Ferragamo, Gucci, Jil Sander, Max Mara, Prada, and Tod’s. At Gucci’s Wooster store, you can discover an immersive video installation celebrating over a century of craftsmanship. At Tod’s, witness the hand-making of the Gommino and Borsa Bag and enjoy bespoke personalization, including monogramming, with any purchase.

“Icons of Italy celebrates a cultural dialogue between Italy and the United States that has enriched both countries for generations,” said Matteo Lunelli, Chairman of Altagamma, an aggregator of high-end Italian cultural and creative companies since 1992 and the curator of the event. (The project is also supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and specifically by ITA, the Italian Trade Agency.) “American audiences have long recognized and embraced the creativity, craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit that defines Made in Italy. Through this initiative we want to share the richness and diversity of our creative industries, of our true Icons, offering visitors an authentic journey into the culture, traditions, territories that shape Italian excellence.”
