It’s inspiring as heck to see which trends might rule the world next spring or fall, but man, it can be downright exhausting. Every year, twice a year (and sometimes more), the fashion community travels to Europe to get a glimpse of what’s to come. The seasonal collections offer the chance to preview what everyone will be wearing come spring or fall, and what trends and new ideas might eventually take hold of the zeitgeist. It’s inspiring, but it’s also a long haul. For those who travel to London, Milan, and Paris, fashion month means a literal month away from home and loved ones. Bookended by shows, events, dinners, breakfasts, and endless socializing from early morning to late evening, the journey can be draining. That’s why it’s important to find a place to stay in each city that provides a sense of ease and comfort. Of course, it’s a pleasure to stay in a hotel with impeccable service and spectacularly appointed rooms, but the best fashion month locations also offer the feeling that, although you’re thousands of miles away, you’re still somewhere you can consider home.

In March, while visiting Paris for the Fall 2025 collections, I was lucky enough to be able to experience such a feeling at The Peninsula. Located on Avenue Kléber in the heart of the 16th arrondissement, the hotel is, despite its cachet and global presence, singularly warm and welcoming. Walking into the marbled lobby with its arched ceiling and black and gold finishes on the front desk, you’re greeted by touches of thoughtful modern art, like a hanging sculpture, and a lovely, attentive staff. After I arrived, I was given a brief overview of the hotel and led to my room—a spacious suite decorated with a seating area and Juliette balconies that looked over Avenue Kléber. (The hotel is walking distance to the Champs-Élysées.) The bathrooms offered a deep soaking tub lined in more marble and a rain shower, both of which did wonders for my tired feet and stretched mind at the end of long show days. But the real pièce de resistance in the room was the closet—a walk-in the size of a small New York City studio apartment featuring a full vanity. My clothes and I couldn’t have been happier.

While the hotel is sophisticated in terms of look and feel—regal, even—the overall experience gave off a more low-key vibe. At the restaurant downstairs called LiLi, traditional Chinese dishes (the Peninsula originated in TK) were served, including dim sum and fried jasmine rice with crab. Another restaurant just adjacent to the lobby offered variety of French and International foods; you could also grab food in a lovely garden bar or a rooftop bar boasting spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower.

While the rooms and the food are unparalleled, the spa is one of the standouts of the hotel. A serene pool area offers quiet respite from the busy streets of Paris, as do locker rooms complete with sauna and steam facilities. Offering Biologique Recherche facials and a comprehensive menu of body treatments, the spa might just be the best place to unwind and come back to life after the whirl of fashion week.

But even if the Peninsula is grounded in some of the most luxurious and indulgent experiences in the world, my experience still felt comfortable and relaxed. There’s so much beauty at this hotel, but it’s also a true home away from home.
