How FreeNow’s €500,000 Power Play Could Revolutionize the Ride-Hailing Game Amid the Oasis Frenzy—Are You Ready to Cash In?
Ever wondered how a city gears up to move more than 160,000 music fans while keeping wheels turning smoothly? As Dublin braces for the electrifying Oasis concerts at Croke Park this weekend, FreeNow is stepping up with a game-changing offer—€500,000 in driver incentives. It’s not just pocket change; it’s a strategic move to turbocharge taxi supply when demand peaks, rewarding drivers who keep the city moving before and after the gigs. With more drivers joining the ranks than in the past 15 years, Ireland’s taxi scene isn’t just bustling—it’s thriving. This weekend could very well be the perfect case study in how innovation and incentive can harmonize for an event that’s as much about transportation logistics as it is about legendary music. Curious how it all plays out in real time? LEARN MORE
The taxi app, FreeNow, is offering drivers up to €500,000 in incentives to support taxi supply as Dublin prepares for a busy weekend of music.
In preparation for this weekend’s Oasis gigs in Croke Park, the app owners say incentives will be available to drivers before and after the concerts.
These incentives boost drivers’ earnings by offering bonuses for completing a specific number of rides within a set time frame.
Over 160,000 fans are expected to attend Oasis’ two sold-out shows at the weekend.
Danny O’Gorman, General Manager at Freenow Ireland said: “With Oasis set to draw huge crowds to Dublin, the city is buzzing with anticipation.
“We are committing €500,000 in incentives for drivers this coming weekend to reward and encourage those who work during peak times and ensure a reliable and efficient service for passengers.
“Our network of drivers is ready to keep people moving, and with taxi supply at record levels and a number of public transport links available near Croke Park, fans can travel to and from the concerts with confidence.
“The latest NTA figures show just how strong and responsive the taxi industry in Ireland has become and we look forward to continuing to support more large-scale events.”
According to the latest figures from the NTA, Ireland’s taxi supply is growing strongly with more than 2,000 new drivers joining the industry in 2024—the largest annual increase in 15 years.
There are now more than 27,800 active SPSV driver licences in circulation, marking a nearly 10% increase since 2022.
As a result, Ireland now boasts one of the highest taxi-per-capita rates in Europe, surpassing major countries such as Poland, Spain, the UK, France, Germany, and Italy.
Freenow’s own platform data reflects this growth.

In Q1 2025, the company recorded the highest ever driver availability in the app, marking a 12% increase on the same period last year.
Passenger pick-up rates have also improved, up four percentage points year-on-year.
