How Stick Season 2 Will Revolutionize Your Workout—Prepare to Be Amazed!

Alright, golf enthusiasts and binge-watchers alike—here’s a curveball for you: what happens when you mix the charm of an ex-pro golfer with the punchy warmth of a sports comedy? You get Stick—Apple TV+’s latest hole-in-one that’s just been officially tee’d up for a second season. Owen Wilson leads the charge as Pryce Cahill, a grizzled golfer looking to reclaim his glory by mentoring a bright-eyed 17-year-old protege. It’s like if Happy Gilmore found its softer side through a friendship straight outta Ted Lasso, a mix that’s as refreshing as hitting that perfect drive on a crisp morning. I gotta say, as someone who watches the grind—whether in the gym or the game—there’s something damn inspiring about this show’s blend of heart, humor, and just the right amount of grit. Trust me, the golfing world’s got more than birdies in store, and I’m beyond keen to see where Pryce and Santi’s journey takes us next. Shine your drivers, golfers. Stick will return for season 2. Apple TV+ just officially renewed the sports-comedy series starring Owen Wilson right as the season 1 finale hit the streamer.

“We all had a great time making it,” Wilson said in the official press release for season 2. “It’s really nice to see the show connecting with people and to know that we get a chance to continue the story!”

Stick follows Wilson as ex-pro golfer Pryce Cahill, who starts training a 17-year-old protégé named Santi (Peter Dager) to win back some prestige in the sport. It’s a bit of Happy Gilmore meets Ted Lasso, with a strong foundation around Pryce and Santi’s feel-good found-family dynamic.

The Apple TV+ series also stars Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer, and Timothy Olyphant, with professional golfers Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark making cameo appearances, among others. Though we won’t spoil what happens in the season finale, Apple promises that there’s plenty of material still left in the golf bag.

Just this past May, showrunner and creator Jason Keller told Esquire that he hoped “people relate to the characters in a very real way and they see this found family struggling to get along in a way that they can relate to” in season 1. “There’s certainly a lot of cynical TV—and the news is rough, no matter what side of the news cycle you’re on,” he continued. “My hope is that this is a place where people can connect to characters and feel something but ultimately feel good about what they’ve watched.”

It seems Keller’s plan worked. Stick will return for season 2.

“I am inspired and humbled by the audience reaction to Stick, and I’m thrilled to be making a second season with this magical cast, led by the incomparable Owen Wilson, and the wonderful creative team at Apple TV+,” Keller stated in the press release. “It’s a joy to be able to continue this story. Most importantly, however, this season two order will provide me with an undeniable excuse to play even more golf.”
