‘Ice Road Truckers’ new season hits screens
It was in 2017 when Ice Road Truckers wrapped up after debuting in 2007, and for years, it had viewers on the edge of their seats, anticipating how on earth these highly skilled drivers could possibly navigate the roads that stood in front of them. Now, as we prepare for Season 12’s arrival, there’s even more at stake. “We’ve got seven loads to load tomorrow,” says a driver in a preview for the new season. “If we don’t get it in there, they can’t finish the water treatment plant, giving clean drinking water to the community.” He continued, “Some of the communities we go to, their only source to get food, building materials, is by winter roads.” With so much at stake and people’s livelihoods depending on these deliveries, the drivers who lead this series have much to prove. Who will be in ‘Ice Road Truckers’ Season 12?
The new season of Ice Road Truckers introduces new faces, as well as familiar ones we watched in previous seasons. Lisa Kelly, one of the most iconic faces in the world of ice road trucking, makes her return to the series, and since 2017, she hasn’t slowed down in the slightest, still maintaining her tough edge and bravery on the road. Also making his return is Todd Dewey, who was excited to get back on the road after so many years.

“When the show ended in 2017, it was kind of a good thing for me at that point in time in my life because I had four daughters,” he explained to TV Insider. “The first one was just graduating and out of high school. Then it was back-to-back, so it was nice to have that little bit of a break to concentrate on family and get my daughters all squared away with what they would do after graduation and into college. As they decided what they wanted to do with their lives, it was nice being home and not having to leave and take off for months at a time.”
Now, however, with his girls all grown up and he and his wife empty nesters, he thought it was the right time to get back out there. Also joining the cast this season are Scooter Yuill, Shaun Harris and his sons, Riley Harris and Zach Harris, who are looking to grow their family empire and lead the next generation of ice road truckers. Tune in on October 1 on the History Channel to see how these drivers navigate what’s ahead.
