Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus has been married to her college sweetheart and early ’80s Saturday Night Live castmate Brad Hall for nearly 40 years. The comedically gifted couple tied the knot in 1987, and they have two sons, Charlie and Henry Hall, both of whom have followed in their creative footsteps. With Charlie set to join the ensemble cast of The White Lotus’ highly anticipated fourth season, now is the ideal time to catch up on what Louis-Dreyfus’ talented children have been up to.
Charlie Hall: A TV regular who will soon be in ‘The White Lotus’
Charlie Hall, the younger of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall’s sons, was born in 1997. He graduated from Northwestern University, the college where his parents met, in 2019, and made his screen debut in an episode of his mom’s show Veep that year.
After creating and starring in the 2020 web series Sorry, Charlie, the young actor quickly built an impressive resume. He’s appeared in comedy films like Moxie (2021) and Sweethearts (2024), and has become a familiar face on TV with recurring roles in shows including Love, Victor, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Single Drunk Female and Bel-Air. Most recently, he took on supporting roles in Ryan Murphy’s true crime series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (2024) and Monster: The Ed Gein Story (2025).

Charlie will soon have his most prominent role to date in season 4 of The White Lotus. The new season is filming in France this year and is expected to air in 2027. Other cast members for the upcoming season include Sandra Bernhard, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan and Kumail Nanjiani. In an Instagram post announcing his casting, he said he’s “So incredibly excited!” and called The White Lotus “my favorite show.”
Before the next season of The White Lotus debuts, Charlie will act in the dark comedy series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, debuting this May. He’s also developing C-League, a show about a group of friends in an adult recreational basketball league. The actor was a college basketball player, so the show is a passion project for him.

Charlie’s casting in The White Lotus puts him in good company, and he isn’t the first child of a celebrity to join the hit series—Sam Nivola (son of Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola) and Patrick Schwarzenegger (son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver) played brothers in season 3, and such casting offers a meta commentary on family privilege.
Charlie shared that his mom gave him some valuable acting advice, saying, “When I first started acting, I was like, ‘Mom, how do I become good at this?’ and she was like, ‘I think you should read every script and ask yourself, how [would] a human say the words you’re about to say?’ . . . Sometimes in the flurry of acting techniques, you kind of forget that your first, and kind of only job, is to feel like a real human.” The advice paid off, and Louis-Dreyfus has said that when it comes to seeing Charlie and his brother act, “The fact that my children are able to pull that off gives me endless joy.”

Henry Hall: An indie musician and occasional actor
Henry Hall, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall’s first son, was born in 1992 (you may remember seeing Louis-Dreyfus try to hide her pregnancy, with varying degrees of success, in season 3 of Seinfeld). He got his start in a web series opposite fellow child of celebrities Miles Robbins (son of Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins) in 2015, and like his younger brother, he made his TV debut in a 2019 episode of his mom’s show Veep.

Henry went on to have small roles in episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Rutherford Falls and White House Plumbers. In 2024, he starred in the sitcom Dinner With the Parents, but it was canceled after its first season.
While Henry has acted in the past, his primary interest is music, and he released his debut album, Neato, in 2020. He started playing music as a kid and had a band, Grand Cousin, while in college at Wesleyan University. He’s also composed music for several short films and regularly shares his work with fans on social media.

Like his parents, Henry has a knack for comedy, and he’s often incorporated humor into his music, performing at comedy shows and sharing videos of himself playing for disinterested preschoolers and joking about his need to perform at Coachella.
Henry has shared kind words about his famous mom, saying, “My mom was very supportive of my music and still is and comes to all the shows. It’s great to have creative people in the family and bounce things off of. I really respect her opinion on all things creative.”
