The 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has once again left its mark on Brooklyn by way of Steiner Studios, and this year, the glam is better than ever.
Led by celebrity hairstylist Jawara Wauchope and celebrated makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath, the angel’s runway beauty felt traditionally bombshell, but with a softer, more modern edge. “It was an absolute pleasure working with them,” Wauchope says of Victoria’s Secret executive creative director, Adam Selman, and team. “They brought me in, and we had conversations about bringing back the sexy, big blowout, but we wanted to modernize it. So, we’re doing a sleek gloss with a little bit of volume.”
Just like the show’s fashion and otherworldly stage sets, Victoria’s Secret hairstyles are nothing if not playful—and perhaps a little flirty—which is why the expert decided to incorporate a range of extensions to give models’ hair an added glam factor without sacrificing versatility. “We’re also embracing a couple of different textures as well, so not everyone has the same exact hair. You’ll see a couple of girls with curly textures, baby textures, horsey hair blown out, so we have all different types today, which I love because I think that’s a true representation of what beauty actually is.” Along with True and Pure extensions, Wauchope and team used Bumble and Bumble Surf Salt Spray and Infusion to perfect the night’s looks on VS newcomers Suni Lee, Angel Reese, and Quen Blackwell, as well as veterans, like Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, and Imaan Hammam.
As for the Angels’ ethereal glow? McGrath and team looked to staples from her eponymous beauty line to deliver soft yet impactful glam. “Adam said he wanted the girls to just glow and be themselves,” the artist tells me backstage. “We have our Divine Skin Essence and Hydrating Glow Cream as a beginning, and are using Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection foundation all over the face to give them that real serum glow.” After applying concealer, McGrath reached for her brand’s blurring under-eye powder to set it, and enhanced the dewy look with limited-edition Divine Cream Blush: Legendary Glow color balms. Models’ eyes were lined with the PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil in BLK Coffee, and twinkled under the runway lights thanks to a range of Mothership palettes. Chief among them was Pat McGrath Labs’ new Gilded Nirvana: Mega Eyeshadow Palette, and especially the shade Moonlit Mauve.
McGrath also used the Skin Fetish Highlighter + Balm Duo on the cheekbones and cupid’s bow, and lined lips with Legendary Longwear Lip Liner in the shade Done Undone, before topping them with the aptly named Lust: Gloss in Earth Angel to complete the look. “And as you can see, all the girls just really come alive,” she beams.
