2 min readRed suit, gloved hands, and a wide-brimmed hat: if you thought you saw Jennifer Lopez walking the streets of New York City yesterday, you may have mistaken her for Daphne Parrish, her character from the forthcoming The Last Mrs. Parrish. Filming for the movie adaptation of Liv Constantine’s 2017 novel, the actress was seen in Midtown alongside director Robert Zemeckis and costar Isabel May in a look outside of her typical street style.
The wool jacket, a Dior piece constructed from wool and silk fabrics, was designed with long sleeves and flap pockets to accentuate the waist. As typical for archival-inspired pieces from the French house, the collar was left bare, without standard lapels, and paired with a matching midi wrap skirt. For the scene, an antique, crystallized angel wing brooch was fastened to the blazer, and a black leather belt cinched the piece at the waist. Lopez stepped out in dogtooth pumps from Manolo Blahnik, and in her gloved hand, she carried a black leather pouch from Amiri—embossed with a crocodile texture and elevated with gold logo detailing. The bag not only matched her leather belt, but also her wide-brimmed hat and black sunglasses.
The Last Mrs. Parrish, previously selected as part of Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club, follows a con-artist’s scheme to scam a wealthy couple and take the wife’s place. The more she gets to know Mrs. Parrish, however, the more she begins to realize not everything about her “perfect” life is as it seems.
