Lady Gaga’s Shocking Emmy No-Show: The Unexpected Reason Behind Her 2025 Absence Revealed!

Lady Gaga’s Shocking Emmy No-Show: The Unexpected Reason Behind Her 2025 Absence Revealed!

Lady Gaga is absolutely on fire right now—rocking her Mayhem Ball Tour, snagging awards like the Artist of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards, and even stepping into the world of “Wednesday” with a special guest spot. You’d think with all this momentum, she’d be front and center at the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards, right? But nope—Mother Monster was mysteriously missing from the red carpet this year. So what gives? Turns out, her “Wednesday” role wasn’t eligible this round, leaving her chance for a nod next year, and likely some more jaw-dropping red carpet magic. Plus, with a whirlwind of Mayhem Ball shows kicking off soon in Chicago, maybe she’s just saving her energy for the stage rather than the stage of award ceremonies. Either way, Gaga’s journey towards that elusive EGOT status—and one last Tony to seal the deal—is as exciting as ever. Ready to dive deeper? LEARN MORE

Lady Gaga is having quite the successful run right now, what with her ongoing Mayhem Ball Tour, recent sweeps at ceremonies like the MTV Video Music Awards, and exciting new projects, like her special guest appearance on the second season of Wednesday. However, despite all that, Mother Monster was nowhere to be found when it came time for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards to begin.

If you’re wondering why she wasn’t there, Gaga did not receive a nomination at this year’s ceremony. However, her guest spot on Wednesday was not eligible, given that it aired after the deadline for projects to be considered, so she still has a chance to receive a nod next year in the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series category. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed, if only so that we can get another one of her unforgettable red carpet appearances.

Lady Gaga was recently awarded Artist of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.

Another plausible reason that Gaga was absent is because she’s kicking off a string of Mayhem Ball shows in Chicago on September 15, so it’s likely that she was resting and preparing for her upcoming performances.

Earlier this year, Gaga did win an Emmy though, at the Sports Emmy Awards. There, her Super Bowl LIX pregame performance of “Hold My Hand” won the prize for Outstanding Music Direction. With this win, Gaga inched even closer to EGOT status, and now, she only needs a Tony in order to join the company of greats like Viola Davis, Elton John, and Jennifer Hudson.
