If you thought Lily Allen’s barely-there CFDA Fashion Awards look from November was a great revenge-dressing moment, just wait. As she kicked off her tour in support of her West End Girl album at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Monday, the artist stepped on stage in a dress that—quite literally—brought the receipts.

As she performed her 2025 breakup album—which details the fallout of her marriage to Stranger Things actor David Harbour—the singer worked with set designer Anna Fleischle and stylist Mel Ottenberg for a visual world that reflected and enhanced the storytelling in her music.

In a striking moment during the set, Allen emerged on stage to sing “4chan Stan”—a particularly harrowing track that recounts Allen’s discovery of her then-husband’s infidelity via hidden Bergdorf Goodman receipts.

For the performance, Allen wrapped herself in a look encapsulating the long paper trail she sings about—with a hefty tequila bar bill, screenshotted text conversations, and even that infamous Bergdorf receipt printed straight onto a long sheet of fabric. The proof of her muse’s extramarital affairs were spliced together with handwritten lyrics from her album, and as she sang, she unraveled herself from the evidence—freeing herself from his hold on her, if you will.

This wasn’t the only time that Allen directly referenced her own lyrics. Elsewhere during the short set (it lasted a mere 45 minutes), she sang “Pussy Palace” from an onstage bed, looking through a Duane Reade bag (IYKYK).

For more behind-the-scenes intel, Fleischle took to Instagram to share the process of “musically weaving [her] staging ideas seamlessly into [Allen’s] powerful emotional storytelling and the arc of the performance,” from “shaping the story” to “refining its progression.” Watch below.
