‘Motorheads’ Unleashed: Why Ryan & Deacon Phillippe’s New Prime Video Drama Is Set to Blow Your Mind and Change Family TV Forever!

Ryan Phillippe — remember that name? Since the ’90s, this guy’s been carving his way into our hearts, from the soap opera charm of One Life to Live to the sly devilry in Cruel Intentions. Now, here we are in 2025, and surprise — he’s teaming up onscreen with his son, Deacon, in Amazon Prime’s fresh series Motorheads. Ever thought about the kinda magic that happens when a dad and son tackle roles as brothers? It’s like a generational tag team in acting — a twist that pulls you in before the engines even start revving. Motorheads isn’t just about fast cars; it’s about family bonds that roar louder than any engine, with the Torres siblings and their mysterious dad’s past fueling the drama. Something tells me, this ride’s gonna be full throttle for both heart and horsepower. Curious to find out more? LEARN MORE

Ever since the 1990s, Ryan Phillippe has been a staple on the list of heartthrobs we can’t get enough of, from his early days on One Life to Live (1992-1993) to his devilish role in Cruel Intentions (1999). Now, in 2025, Phillippe is starring opposite his son, Deacon, in the new Amazon Prime series, Motorheads.

Motorheads follows a group of unlikely friends in the present day, who bond over their love for cars. Zac and Caitlyn Torres get that love from their Uncle Logan (Ryan Phillippe) and their long-lost father, Christian (Deacon Phillippe), as they learn about their history and unravel what happened to their dad.

Ryan stars as Logan Maddox in the present day, while Deacon portrays the younger version of his brother, Christian Maddox, 20 years earlier. Ryan shared his thoughts on taking their father-son relationship and making it into a brotherly one for the show.

I was like, ‘Wow, okay,’” Ryan shared about his son being offered the part. “I didn’t want to be an influence one way or the other, so I said, ‘Well, offer it to him and see what he thinks.’ The whole time [in my head] I’m, like, ‘Please do it. Please do it. I want you there with me.’ But I wanted it to be his own decision.”

He also added, “I was thrilled, because that meant he would come in and out throughout the production, and I would get to spend time with him. When your kids go off to college, it’s really unsettling…it’s different than when you’ve got them in your house every day. This experience offered me that opportunity again to live together for a week.”

Meet the cast of ‘Motorheads’

Melissa Collazo stars as Caitlyn Torres in the series and while this isn’t the actress’ first role, it is one of her biggest. Collazo previously starred in shows and movies like Stranger Things (2017), The Little Mermaid (2018) and One of Us Is Lying (2021-2022). The 25-year-old leads the series as she works to restore her missing father’s legendary car, along with her brother, uncle and some new friends.

Michael Cimino portrays Zac Torres, the twin brother of Collazo’s character. You may recognize the actor from his roles in Senior Year (2022), Love, Victor (2020-2022), How I Met Your Father (2023) or Never Have I Ever (2023).

Uriah Shelton stars as Curtis Young in Motorheads, the outcast who Caitlyn brings in to help work on her father’s car. Shelton, who has been acting since the early 2000s, has previously starred in The Glades (2010-2013), Blue (2012-2014), Girl Meets World (2014-2017) and Looking for Alaska (2019).

Nicolas Cantu is Marcel Crawford in the show, the fourth of the new group of friends. Although he’s a bit of an outsider with the rest of his class, Marcel finds his place with Caitlyn, Zac and Curtis. Cantu has done a lot of voice acting in the past, bringing characters to life in The Amazing World of Gumball (2017-2019) and Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2024), and has starred in The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020).

Josh MacQueen, who you could mistake for Deacon Phillippe if you aren’t paying close enough attention, stars as Harris Bowers. Although he portrays the cocky yet gifted driver during the series, he shows a soft side you can’t ignore. MacQueen has previously appeared in shows including Black Snow (2022-2023) and Surviving Summer (2023).

Mia Healey is in Motorheads as Alicia Whitaker, the local girl who falls for the new boy, Zac Torres. Although Healey is fairly new to acting, you may have seen the actress in The Wilds (2020-2022).

Drake Rodger stars as Ray Young, the older brother to Curtis, who steals cars and sells them for parts for a living. But in real life, you can find Rodger in shows and movies like The In Between (2022), The Winchesters (2022-2023) and Landman (2024).
