When you merge the influences of Chanel and Sofia Coppola, magic is bound to take place. And that’s just what happened on Wednesday evening, when the renowned filmmaker unveiled her latest book, Chanel Haute Couture. A visual telling of the French Maison’s history, it serves as a coffee table textbook of sorts, chronicling each major designer’s era through never-before-seen sketches, client photographs, and runway shots. To celebrate the launch, a star-studded lineup of guests flocked to Double’s Club, including Gracie Abrams, Kirsten Dunst, Havana Rose Liu, and, of course, Coppola’s daughter and rising artist Romy Mars, who posed hand-in-hand with fellow nepo baby Sunday Rose Urban.

The two stars, though both in Chanel, opted for different silhouettes and styles. For Mars, the evening called for a classic little black dress, for which she picked a strapless knee-length number with ruching on the bodice angled to evoke the shape of a bow, and a flower detail on the waist. She styled it with slingback heels and a tweed bag. Urban, on the other hand, mixed and matched her fabrics, pairing satin trousers with a sheer, cap-sleeved button down, adorned with a lacy collar and cropped above the waist. In her hand, she carried a velvet diamanté quilted purse.

Spanning nearly 450 pages, Chanel Haute Couture takes readers through the archives, from Gabrielle Chanel herself to Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard. It is the latest offering from Coppola’s Important Flowers imprint, which launched earlier this year with the release of The Virgin Suicides, a behind-the-scenes look at the author’s first feature film with images from British fashion photographer Corrine Day.
