Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella 2026 set was full of surprises. And that included the handful of familiar faces—from Susan Sarandon to Will Ferrell—who popped up on stage with her.

Just two years after she promised she’d be back at California’s biggest music festival as a headliner, the “Espresso” singer made good on her promise—securing the top spot on the first day of the first weekend in the desert. And with two new albums and a world tour under her belt, she was ready.

In the years between her Coachella appearances, the star has become a champion of the celebrity cameo. Just think of her viral “arrests,” where she’d hand Anne Hathaway, Nicole Kidman, Gigi Hadid, or Dakota and Elle Fanning a fuzzy pink handcuff at the Short n’ Sweet tour for being “too hot.” Or there’s her music videos, which have featured Jenna Ortega, Margaret Qualley, and Madelyn Cline. Now, she’s taken things up a level—bringing the stars to Coachella with her.

Throughout the headlining set, Carpenter filled the space between her tracks with on-screen snippets that felt less like background visuals and more like Oscar-worthy short films. The videos played on classics such as Psycho and The Wizard of Oz, and featured a cast of actors perfect for the job.

Kicking things off, Carpenter opened with a black-and-white Hitchcockian video, in which the star herself was pulled over by a police officer, played by Landman’s Sam Elliot. After escaping a grilling, she drove off to Coachella, where things turned Technicolor with a Hollywood Walk of Fame version of Dorothy’s Yellow Brick Road.

Later on, Sarandon surprised the crowd an older version of the “House Tour” artist reflecting back on her days as a pop star.

Elsewhere, Ferrell portrayed an electrician, Samuel L. Jackson acted as a spiritual guide, and Carpenter’s Girls Meets World co-star Corey Fogelmanis played a waiter.

Plus, in the audience, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber rounded things out with an equally as star-studded crowd.
