Taylor Swift is closing out her shimmering The Life of a Showgirl press run with a bang. Early this morning (at 12 a.m.), the pop superstar made her much-awaited appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers—during his 13th season, in fact—to talk about her 12th studio album, which came out on October 3.
The interview comes after she went on The Graham Norton Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and several radio shows to promote her new album and accompanying movie, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.
For her final late-night show stop, Swift brought the gothic romance courtesy of a black, strapless, corset minidress covered in an elaborate floral pattern, the pink roses of which shimmered with glitter. The tragically beautiful piece hails from Wiederhorft, and to go with it, Swift slipped into metallic pink Aquazurra peep-toe heels that looked like flowers enveloping her feet.
A chunky black and silver choker dotted with large pink gemstones, plus pink and yellow diamond earrings, an inky cat eye, and a glittery silver manicure completed the dark but poetic look. Very “The Fate of Ophelia”-coded, if you ask me.
Like in her past interviews, Swift opened up not only about her new tracks, but also about her recent engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce—a hot topic—and about other famous friends in her life. She even told Meyers the story of when Zoë Kravitz’s mom’s pet snake went loose in her house and got stuck in her bathroom sink, forcing Kravitz to call someone to pull apart Swift’s bathroom. “It just sounds incredible. I’m sad I didn’t see it,” the pop star said of the incident.
