Spooky season is almost over, and while most people are beginning to pack up their pumpkins, at Woman’s World, we’re trying to savor every little bit of coziness and comfort. To do this, we began binge-watching a bunch of classic TV Halloween episodes, and below are our top five favorite ones. From The Lucy Show to It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, these segments are sure to have you screaming, shouting and feeling spooky.
‘The Lucy Show’ Season 3, Episode 18: ‘Lucy and The Monsters’
While this episode of The Lucy Show isn’t technically a Halloween episode, it has all the spooky elements to become one. In it, Lucy Carmichael (Lucille Ball) and Vivian Bagley (Vivian Vance) take their boys to a scary movie, and while the children are mainly unaffected, Lucy and Vivian are scared out of their minds. In fact, that night Lucy dreams that she and Vivian are trapped in Dracula’s castle and being tormented by a werewolf and a gorilla, only to be turned into witches shortly after. What a nightmare.

‘M*A*S*H’ Season 11, Episode 2: ‘Trick or Treatment’
In 1983, M*A*S*H released a Halloween episode and it was everything viewers hoped it would be. The plot follows a variety of members of the 4077th after their Halloween festivities are interrupted by a comatose soldier, who they are convinced is dead. It was funny, filled with laughs and had the classic M*A*S*H feeling that TV fans know and love.

‘The Addams Family’ Season 1, Episode 7: ‘Halloween With the Addams Family’
Let’s be honest, any episode of The Addams Family could be considered a Halloween episode, however there is one from 1964 that is specifically meant for the holiday. In Season 1, Episode 7—which is entitled “Halloween With the Addams Family”—our beloved creepy and kooky family gears up to celebrate Halloween. That night they invite two people to come celebrate with them, only to discover that they are robbers on the run. WIll the Addams betray their guests and turn them in? Only time will tell.

‘Happy Days’ Season 2, Episode 6: ‘Haunted’
Happy Days gets haunted? Count us in! In Season 2, Episode 6, Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard) doesn’t believe in his sister Joanie’s (Erin Moran) fear of the haunted Simpson House. But when he gets a glimpse of the hauntings himself, he slowly begins to turn into a believer. Don’t worry, though: in true Happy Days fashion, the show is filled with comedic moments and heartfelt storylines, so it’s not as spooky and scary as it seems.

‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’
Okay, yes, technically It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown isn’t a classic TV episode, but it is a TV special and it’s a classic, hence its inclusion. For those that haven’t seen it, the cartoon follows the Peanuts Gang as they celebrate Halloween. Elsewhere, Linus Van Pelt (voice Christopher Shea) waits for the mythical Great Pumpkin to appear.
