This trimmer is chock-full of cool features that are the sort of thing you didn’t know you needed until you have them, like a built-in LED light for seamless groinal navigation, a travel lock to avoid slicing through clothes or other products in your Dopp kit, and a nifty low-battery light to let you know it’s time to recharge before diving into a trim. This trimmer is built for below-the-belt grooming but works great on other body parts too. It trims quickly and efficiently, no matter where you use it. The 5.0 is also fully waterproof and armed with a protective outer guard above the blades to minimize the risk of nicks or cuts.

Testing Notes: In my testing, I found a lot to love about the newest version of the Lawn Mower. Compared to previous models, it seems to cut a little bit easier and more efficiently, and with less snagging. The blade guard really does help in this department, though I did experience a few nicks when trying to trim too quickly (never a good idea when dealing with the groin, to be honest).

I don’t recommend using it without the guard, as the blades can be a little harsh on bare skin. However, a natural side effect of this is that you won’t ever get a completely bald shave with this device. Still, it’s surprisingly lightweight, and the added features like the built-in light make the experience of groin trimming as pleasant as it can be. It also corrected one of the more annoying issues with previous models by adding a travel lock on its power button that requires more effort to activate.

Unlike previous models, the 5.0 does not include a charging dock; however, it is fully equipped with USB-C charging capabilities, which I much prefer to the dock. I’d argue that every electric device should be required to use this much more universal charger. It saves on space by limiting the amount of wires you need laying around, and is far more convenient to replace if you ever lose the included cord.
