Bus Éireann has appointed Jean O’Sullivan as chief executive following a competitive recruitment process.
O’Sullivan will assume the role on 1 November, succeeding Stephen Kent, who served as CEO for seven years.
O’Sullivan joined Bus Éireann three years ago as chief people officer, and the company said she had been central to shaping its people and culture strategy.
She also played a key role in developing ‘Horizon 28 – Our Vision for Green Growth;, Bus Éireann’s five-year strategy focused on sustainable transport and organisational growth.
“We are delighted to welcome Jean O’Sullivan as our new Chief Executive Officer,” said Miriam Hughes, chair of Bus Éireann.
“Jean’s strategic leadership, people-first approach and clear vision for the future will be invaluable as Bus Éireann continues to deliver safe, reliable and sustainable public transport across Ireland.
“On behalf of the Board, I also want to thank Stephen Kent for his exceptional leadership and dedication over the past seven years.
“Stephen’s ambition and belief in the Bus Éireann team have left a lasting mark on the company and on public transport nationally.”
