Staycity Group will open Ireland’s first Wilde aparthotel in Dublin’s north docklands after agreeing a 35-year lease with the Ronan Group.

The 288-room, eight-storey property will be part of the 4.6-acre Waterfront South Central mixed-use scheme, which will also house Citi‘s new Irish headquarters and 550 residential units as well as other substantial commercial buildings.

Waterfront South Central is the final undeveloped city block in the Docklands Strategic Development Zone (DPZ) and is close to the Luas, DART, multiple Dublin Bus routes and Dublin Bikes as well as the Port Tunnel.

The planned Wilde aparthotel will sit directly adjacent to the new Citi development.

James Ronan, director at Ronan Group, said: “We are delighted to partner with Staycity to bring the Wilde brand to Ireland for the first time.

“This 288‑room aparthotel will make a significant contribution to the North Docklands urban district and reinforce the mixed‑use vibrancy of Ronan Group’s Waterfront development.

“This long‑term agreement reflects our confidence in both Staycity and the future of the North Docklands as a major business and lifestyle hub.

“We look forward to progressing the planning application in the coming days.”

Stacity has 6,500 aparthotels across 20 cities in Europe, and its boutique Wilde brand offers apartment-style accommodation to appeal to both corporate travellers and extended-stay guests.

Wilde also has locations in London, Berlin, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Lisbon, Manchester and Vienna, with further openings planned in Amsterdm and Porto.

Andrew Fowler, chief development officer at Staycity Group, added: “Due to Wilde’s upper-upscale, boutique lifestyle positioning, it has been challenging to find the right site and developer combination to enter the Dublin market.

“We couldn’t be happier with the result and the opportunity to work with the Ronan Group, Ireland’s premier development company, on this flagship site neighbouring the new Citibank headquarters.

“We share a natural alignment in our desire to create a vibrant high-end destination, carefully considering the future occupiers of the last city block to be developed in the North Docks SDZ.”

A planning application will soon be submitted to Dublin City Council, and a decision is expected in Q2.
