Zendaya’s Surprising Twilight Throwback Sparks a Fierce Fan Debate—Why She’s Team Edward Over Robert Pattinson!
Ever caught yourself wondering if you’re really a Robert Pattinson co-star without rocking some vintage Twilight merch? Well, yesterday, Zendaya just casually turned that nostalgia dial way up at London’s Electric Cinema — showing up solo but channeling serious Team Edward vibes in an oversize tee plastered with Pattinson’s iconic vampire mug. Who knew a 2008 shirt could spark such a stylish throwback moment? It’s fascinating how these old fandom flames still burn bright among Hollywood’s finest, proving some legacies are just too good to let fade. And between cheeky debates about Team Edward vs. Team Jacob (spoiler: Pattinson’s taking no sides), it’s clear that Twilight merch isn’t just memorabilia — it’s a full-on fashion statement with some seriously cool co-star cred. Are you really a Robert Pattinson co-star until you dig out an old piece of Twilight merch? Yesterday, Zendaya stopped by Electric Cinema in London’s Notting Hill to surprise an audience at a showing of her new film, The Drama. And while she showed up solo, she brought a piece of her co-star with her—wearing a “vintage” (if you consider 2008 vintage) tee from his vampire days.
The shirt in question was an oversize black number, printed with Pattinson’s face as a piercing Edward Cullen. Underneath the eerie portrait, the character’s name was written in the signature Twilight font, clearing identifying the wearer as a firm Team Edward supporter.
During the press tour for The Drama, French outlet Canal+asked Zendaya and Pattinson where they fell on the age-old Team Edward versus Team Jacob debate. “No one’s Team Jacob,” Pattinson joked. “That was just a marketing thing.”
Even still, Zendaya was far from the first of Pattinson’s co-stars to confirm their allegiances with a piece of merch. Last May, Jennifer Lawrence celebrated her film Die, My Love, in which she starred opposite the Twilight star, with a Breaking Dawn: Part 2 baseball cap from 2012. And, just this past February, Timothée Chalamet shared a mirror selfie in a cheeky Team Jacob tee (sorry, Pattinson, I guess collaborating on The King didn’t quite earn his full support).
Here, the Euphoria star wore hers with black slacks and Maison Margiela Tabi leather ballet flats. Leave it to Zendaya to turn the kitschy T-shirt into a fashion statement.
